That should bring a few orders in when it's finished.
Looks stunning.

Hi All, I am so pleased with every aspect of this car which has now culminated in the outstanding paintwork by Jeff.Seems hard to think that Gary and I had our first discussions about a build way back in January when it was only a concept, its been great seeing the project move forward week by week, plenty of first build ironing out issues to overcome which Gary has always discussed with me and he has managed to skillfully overcome.Some posts have mentioned costs involved and to be honest I had set myself an original budget which soon doubled and now trebled, this is in no way down to STS, Gary or Jeff but I am a bit of a perfectionist and wanted this car to be as good as it possibly could be so its inevitable that the costs would increase (the biggest cost was getting the wife a new kitchen as this was the deal with me having a new car ) Looking at the build quality from Gary and Jeffs paint work I know I will soon have an outstanding car which hopefully will create great interest and generate many orders for Gary. The finish line is now getting close and cant wait to be driving it.

Cheers Graham

[QUOTE=Jeff H;90532]Hey Graham,

You forgot to mention the cost of getting a new garage built for the car, a must have now.

Good point Jeff, had one built a couple of months ago, all fitted out ( wasn`t just the wife that had kitchen units just mine were a lot cheaper)

Its a 3 stage process, first stage is a 3mm polymer resin coating left for a day to dry then another 3mm Polymer layer left again for a day then finished off with a 3mm comfort layer which is basically a soft layer so when kneeling on it its quite soft, its a bit like a memory foam mattress but harder. When the wheels of a car are on it leaves an indent then when you move the car it raises back up level again

Went to see Gary on Friday after collecting some kits from Chris at Tribute. I was keeping an open mind about the project as photos can be deceiving. I had never met Gary before but knew a bit about his background with the development with the Sammio.

Be assured this is a quality bit of kit. It has been well thought out and executed to a great engineering standard. Much planning and insight has gone into it. Jeff's (Hilltop)paint was as good as ever which would have highlighted any flaws in the moulding. The extra size up from previous models was a bonus, it's a proper sized car now. The exposed chassis in the cab was great. My only criticism was the look of the weld could be better here but its an easy fix and powder coating would sort most of it out.

The Triumph Herald side of it leaves me cold but I understand completely why hes gone down this route. It would be easy to replace the engine with a Jaguar 6 or Rover V8 but obviously the brakes and suspension would need an upgrade. I've done some calculations and the TVR range would fit with some slight modification. I think it's value lies in the shape being as generic as possible so you could make an Aston, Ferrari, Maserati, Alfa replica with minimal adjustments. I will be buying one.
Great job and I'm sure it's going to be a great success.

Thanks guys ...I am very pleased with the car , what Glan and myself created was exactly what I wanted to see and the car has developed into a very pretty car indeed .....

The body has been made just over 4'' wider than previous renditions to cater for alternative chassis / running gear options as Richard touched on in his post ......

Doors , bootlid , integral dash etc were all a 'must have' for the car so I can take my original concepts that came out in 2009 to the level they deserved to be ...

Glan and myself have continued working on the car this week , lights are on (mostly) ...screen in place , numbers and roundalls done , mirrors on , some wiring tidied away ...number plates on ...so getting there ...waiting for grille to arrive , interior work being done thursday and associated bits like finishing dash , fitting steering wheel etc... then it's fire up , check everything and start aiming for the MOT.
