You are clearly very unhappy. That's a shame.
However, if you are planning on starting legal proceedings, it is probably best to avoid letting off steam on a forum.
Whilst it will be no consolation to you, my dealings with Gary have always been very satisfactory and I am a fan of his products.
Whatever your disagreement is with him, I hope that it is sorted satisfactorily for you both.

Chap68, although I know nothing of your dispute you should be aware that Gary is no longer the owner of the Sammio motor car company so for this point alone I think that you should remove your post immediatly. Also if you are taking legal action, maybe airing this on a public forum isnt the smartest way to go about things.

Hi, I too am sorry you have 'allegedly had an out of pocket ordeal'. However I do not feel this is the place to air your washing. You should not come on here with half a story. If you are going down the 'Legal route' then do just that. Fortunately there appear to be many customers who have returned to buy a second time so it can't all be bad.

And if you don't remove this thread, can you at least sort out the grammar and spellings!

The Sammio uses a forty-odd year old donor and the complete package of body, subframe, flyscreen and grille costs £1,335. With the right donor, good prices achieved for the unwanted body parts and doing all the work yourself it's possible to put one on the road for two grand. I personally know of two examples that have been put on the road to a very high standard for under three thousand pounds each.

The reality of building a car on such a budget? My frame didn't fit so I stretched it. My donor was rotten so I welded it. My bonnet had holes in it so I put filler in it. My screen frame was poorly moulded so I sanded it. My deadline has passed so I'll change it. My tonneau never arrived so I cancelled it (and got a full refund in cash with no hard feelings either way). What I won't do is bleat about it.

A Caterham is undoubtedly a high quality component car that even Jeremy Clarkson managed to assemble using some spanners and his ten thumbs. But you need at least fifteen thousand pounds to qualify for that particular owners' club.

My point is, if you want a boutique hotel you pay five hundred quid a night if you can afford it. If all you want is a bed for the night with no frills then you go to travelodge and get change out of thirty quid. The Sammio range of cars gives you the feeling of a boutique hotel at a very travelodge price.

Gary Janes has a long history of providing low budget specialist vehicles for buyers with the vision to see beyond the basic components. If he's guilty of anything it's probably working too hard and spreading himself too thin. I really don't know how he and Mike manage to find the time to do all the development work, produce the bodies and build the cars they have so far.

I don't know the details of your problem with the Sammio Motor Company, primarily because you haven't stated what the issue is other than in vague and veiled terms, but you really have to appreciate that when you decided to do business with someone providing budget rebodies for the Triumph Herald out of a small industrial unit in Poole you hadn't actually placed an order with your nearest Audi dealer.

I'd like to say good luck with your legal action but I think the only winners will have the letters LLB after their names and have a predilection for expensive, pinstripe suits.

Anyway, that's my two new pennies worth and I'll not have anything else to say on the matter.

I'm very happy with my Sammio Spyder. Priced for the budget build so you get what you pay for. I expected issues with finish and quality, and was pleasantly surprised when it was better than I expected.

Gary has always been helpful and polite to me, and so flaming him on this forum probably says more about you than it does him.

If you take a look at the number of posts and replies on this forum, it is nearly the most popular, so there are a lot of satisfied customers.

You can't please all the people all the time, and today wasn't your day. Tomorrow is not looking good either

Chap68 - Clearly we don't know the details, but as you see many are prepared to give Gary the benefit of the doubt.

You can read the announcement about change of ownership here.

I think Gary was more than honest is acknowledging problems caused by the scale of success of the Sammio product.

Gary has put customers ahead of his family and should at the very least be cut a little slack.

I hope this matter can be resolved one way or the other.

Cheers, Paul.

PS
Not disputing your claims, just trying to highlight why others will take issue with your posts.

All I Got Was Months Of Being Messed About And A Very Badly Put Together Car With Parts Missing And Was Told To Deal With It!! I Have A Car Body Shop So If You Brought Your Ford Mondeo To Me And Wanted A New Wing And In Silver Lets Say And I Put A Escort Wing On And Paint It Red And Tell You To Deal With It Told You To F##k Off!! Would Any Of You Just Except This?? Because Thats What I Have Got From All Of This!! And A Point To Note As Im Also A Grp Laminator He Does Not Flow Coat The Inside Of The Bodies Which With Out This Leads To Osmososis And Will Delaminate And Get Wet Patches And All Your Nice Paint Work Will Micro Blister!!
I have previously ordered and made stage payments for a Sammio Cars product. The objective was to provide a donor vehicle to Sammio Cars which was to be stripped, a mould to be made, welded framework to be fabricated and fitted and the body bonded to the frame.

I am therefore able to advise that I am certainly not 'missing the point' you have made.

There have been some delays, the reasons for which were explained and happily accepted by me, and I anticipate receiving the ordered vehicle in due course.

I have had no reason to doubt Mr Jane's word and do not believe him or his company (or ex company) to be 'a sham' in any way.

There are a number of extremely satisfied customers of Sammio products on this site and while you are obviously unhappy and feel the need to air your grievances, I presume that your legal advisers did not suggest the near defamation of character of the subject of your tirade.

Caveat emptor.

Well if Chap68 communicated what he wanted to Gary in the same manner he so eloquently is trying to describe his grievances here, I'm not surprised he wasn't happy with the result!

Anyway, he apparently never understood the whole basic concept of the Sammios - more fool him...

I still think the Kendrick special looked stunning
