Have the seats got a volume knob they look very loud!!!!
Surely the creases etc will add to the authenticity of the build...you don't want a new looking interior in old looking car??

honestly that seat looks brilliant, keep up the great work, you should be very proud of yourself. I will have to buy my of the shelf seats, yours will look very original and period, a hard task to create by any means.

Mot
Just lately, Iv'e been having some very sly thoughts about getting my build an Mot.
If I left the windscreen off, I would not need wipers and washers.
They would come after the Mot.
At the moment, it starts and drives, I would need to connect the lights indicators, put the seats (when done) in, along with the seat belts, rig up a tempory working dash, and not much more to actually get an Mot.
It would need a rear numberplate light which is does not have, so this morning I quickly knocked one out, and whacked it on the car, still has filler to be sanded etc, but would not matter for Mot!
I had originally intended to make the plinth out of stainless steel, but this would have been time consuming, difficult and very long winded, so this effort is very much a compromise, it will be part of the bodywork so will end up in BRG.

Scottie - Your MOT plan sounds like a good one.
At least you will know if there are any problems at a time when fixing them should be easier.
The seat back and number plate light both look great.
Good luck, Paul.

seats saga over
Today I fitted the completed seats to see how they looked.
I am not over moon with some of the creases in the leather, but I am not about to strip it all down and try to rectify it at this stage.
I will live with them and sod it.
I think they are a lot better than some of the "modern" seats they fit to XKSS replicas today, which to my mind, don't look "right", which is why I laboured so hard to create mine.
The bottom line is, they did not have modern seats in the 50's, so they will never look right if that's the look you are after.
Seat belts next..........

Seat belts
Today I made the seat belts, cut the slots in the alloy backs, and fitted
them both.
They don't have "Willans" on them......... yet, but they will have.
Demon Tweaks have put the Willans logos in the post!

Looking good...the creases you were upset about add to the authenticity of it
