I'll confirm as soon as i can, but it should certainly be me, possibly the clan as well although SWMBO isn't exactly chuffed that she would have to bring the boys down in the sensible family car while i blat across the hills in the Spyder. So there are ongoing..... .discussions!

1) wheres sandford? (postcode) for distance time and cost etc

2) does anyone mind if me and the other half come down to droool over completed cars/chat etc. even though my project is sat in a field looking much like a herald convertible at present ...

cheers

Yup. That sums it up. I was there
Very sparce attendance and to be honest, fewer traders than I'd hoped. some nice people to chat to and a chance to look at this beauty from Ronart:

POWER!:

and an offset Hump/Steering wheel arrangement:

but at a cost of a kit being around £16,000 and turnkeys just touching £90,000 it's a different world to the one I live in

We must have walked past each other.

I was always interested in the Ronart W152 but it was very expensive when it first came out in the 70's and it put me off, as was the Kougar, which looked great apart from the grill.

Although a credit to its owner IMHO this vehicle looked a bit ...bland? still each to their own. (edit... looking again I think the word was 'subtle'' not 'bland..although it would look better IMHO without the exhausts and with a wrap around deflector. Must be fun to drive ion the rain).

It certainly didn't get driven to Newark also the lack of a number plate makes me think this may be more of a garage queen. Sorry we didn't meet. as you say, we have to had passed one another in the hall.

Default Sammio Gathering date / location check

So that would be: June 30th - July 1st

Sandford Holiday Park,
Holton Heath
Poole, Dorset
BH16 6JZ

....is that correct?

ohh, that's next Saturday!

I'll be there as long as the weather is good, as I'll be on my own in the Spyder and my 'small' tent is the only one that'll fit in the passenger foot well and it's not especially good.

Can't you fit a large one in the luggage bay?

My large tent only just fits in the luggage bay on our Xsara Picasso! so i don't think it would fit in even your leather lined smuggling hidey hole.

Ha ha. Yes, it is going to be hidden, but lined with flint grey Wilton, not leather.

Nike55, sorry, I can't help with the info. about the meet as I'm working that weekend so haven't really paid attention to the details.

SORRY I HAVE BEEN NOTICEABLY ABSENT OF LATE ....Trying to get the backlog sorted whilst trying to maintain an income ....a particularly difficult juggling act at the best of times ...

NEXT WEEKEND IS CORRECT....I haven't done much about it recently , I need to go over and confirm the bookings , this week...a head count would be very useful , please !

Its the Saturday night primarily , arrivals anytime Sat. leave when you want !

Its not going to be a big glossy affair ...could only be a few of us possibly , not sure , but its an excuse for a Sammio chat and a beer or two !

Hi Gary,

As soon as I know when I'm getting my Spitfire back from the garage I will confirm one way, or the other.

Not much help I know, but it was supposed to be back to day & I'm at work during the week.

If it is back early next Saturday I'll still try to make it for the evening if I can.

Cheers, Paul.

PS
Thanks again for sorting my kit out, see my build thread for photos.

Thanks for the heads up Gary...

If it is not a monsoon I'll be there on Sunday - day tip out on the bike. Might Travelodge till Monday for a quick wizz round the base vehicle with a tape measure. If that's ok.
