Default Mx250 Fuel filler?

Hi all,

To those that have done an mx250 build, or just anyone that may know - how are people connecting the Aston/mini flip fuel cap to the filler neck?

I bought this one with the locking cap too, but if I have to abandon the locking cap so be it.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/272277131690

I have a loose plan for a way I COULD do it utilising the existing fuel filler neck and orange cap, which fits inside the flip cap, but just wondered how everyone else did it?

Thanks

Gordon

Tyne you have to fit a flange first that the cap screws onto. The other side you mount new fuel pipe to the underside of the flange and secure appropriately.

I only fit these fuel caps expensive but you get what you pay for https://www.carbuilder.com/uk/aston-...locking-insert

Ive done mine utilising the MX5's filler tube... Cut the plastic flexible pipe, added a length of steel (just because 48mm fuel resistant pipe appears to be rocking horse poo), extended the overfill line etc.
Joined the orange cap seat to the stub for the Aston cap using flexible filler pipe. It needed some filing down of the orange cap bit to fit as its oversize for my filler cap (2",if you went 2.25" problem solved)

Thanks alfb, I ended up doing almost exactly the same. I bought a 2nd hand fuel filler for the mx5 for £10 to use the extra hoses, and just extended everything using that. Works great! Thanks.

Yep! worst case I can buy an mx5 licking cap which should work fine. But to be honest, does anyone even STEAL fuel in this day and age?
