Default Insurance with Adrian Flux

Hi Guys.

Just want to pick your brains on your experiences.

I have the car on laid up cover at the moment. Wanting to do the dummy MOT (this weekend) and SVA (very soon). Phned up Adrian Flux to transfer to Road cover. They said this will last 30 days without a registration. Then I can either put back to laid up cover without cancelling policy. But then I will not be able to get road cover until I get a registration.

So I asked them what if I fail the SVA in 30 days and want a retake. There response is trailer it there as they can't cover until registered.

How do you guys get insured?

I had a thought that someone else can drive it under third party (on there insurance) to the SVA if needed.

Hi John,

I'm with Flux and I had similar experience. Insured for 30 days which was OK for my first SVA. Then the retest fell a week outside of the 30 days.

I called them up just before the policy was upto 30 days and explained the situation. They were fine and gave me a fortnight (I think) grace on the deadline. I passed the SVA, got registered and then transferred the insurance to the reg number.

I phoned up Footman James. They have no problems at all without a reg number. They said they can use the chassis number. So will be going with them.

Pitty as I have the laid up cover with Flux.

just a note about someone else driving your car on their insurance.

many policies allow a person to drive someones elses car with third party cover on their own insurance. however a stipulation is that the car must be at least insured third party by the owner of the vehicle.

you cant just go and drive an unisured car third party on your own insurance. i have an unfortunate freind wwho has just recieved 6 points for trying.

I ended up getting insured with another insurance company that could insure me with just the chassis number.

Hi

Most insurers will only give us 30 days cover on the chassis numbers for you guys to get your kits road registered.

We do now have a new insurer who can cover longer however.

For a quote please call free on 0800 505 3000.
