The taller flyscreen looks great Jerome. Wouldn't pass the annual MOT inspection here though as it would need to be safety glass and have windscreen wipers if the driver's line of sight is below the top of the screen.
I was also surprised how much the Midget screen suited the lines of the car. I know it isn't as attractive as the curved screen you've gone with, but I'd say it wouldn't look out of place on a Spyder if it had adjustable side pillars so you could alter the angle at will - raked back for best visual effect and more upright for long distance protection from the elements.
Nice work.

The first S*mmio had a slightly re-worked M&W 550 screen fitted to it , this was tweaked on the later models to become the more familiar one they all had ...A 356 screen will fit a 550 , so , it's not unreasonable to think a 356 screen would be close to fitting a S*mmio . The bottom line is different , but if you created a channel in the cowl to accept the screen base and recessed it below the bodyline , it might just work out ok ....this gives you safety glass and a decent surface for wipers ...The Triumph wiper system is perfect for being modified in regards to position etc too ...so with a little effort , the cars could be converted ok ..

Funnily enough my Spyder screen is currently sitting on my 356 body while I make a few modifications to the Spyder bonnet, and it pretty much fits the Speedster straight 'out of the box' (I'll take a pic or two later).
That suggests that the 356 Speedster screen and frame would fit a Spyder without too much trouble and would look pretty good imho.
Martin and Walker have the complete screen assy with frame, seals, glass and side posts for £495 http://technic-motorsport.com/M&W%20...s%20parts.html and I understand that they will sell them without the customer buying one of their bodies, but anyone know if they can be sourced cheaper elsewhere within the EU?

I think the taller screen is a nice touch and keeps a little more of the snow off.
This was a full size Spitfire screen on a modified SAMMIO body.
A little high perhaps but the photo's are misleading and as Gary says it could be lost under a higher bonnet.
We plan on doing a full screen modification for the new SAMMIO ALPHA.
There are a few reason for this, the main one is to assist with the fitting a roof making the car even more desirable .

Okay, here's the Spyder screen on the Speedster body -
Fits pretty much as well as it fits the Sammio, so a Speedster screen and frame would certainly fit the Spyder if you wanted a low windscreen.

Dito, it blends in well with the body, looks better than a full height screen.

Agreed ...I like some of your touches on this car , the MGF rims are a nice change from wires , the faded roundalls , seperate cill panels , little bit edgey on the paint etc...it's no secret I like a 'weathered' car and this one is looking like its been around a while rather than a recent build ...so well done Jerome ...

Thanks! The 'weathered' look is what we always wanted, so its a great compliment
Our philosophy with the car has always been that it looks like a cool (low budget ) 60's rebodied Triumph instead of a 'replica' of a real sportscar. Nothing more, nothing less. Our interior is also very basic, with lots of alloy which gives the 'oldschool racecar' feeling.
We're very happy with the result, finally we can drive this summer. So much fun!

Wheel Spinners
Hi Jerome,
Very nice car indeed. I like the wheels you have used and the bigger screen looks good too. I also like the colour of the car.
Can you tell me how did you fabricate the wheel spinners caps for the wheels and how are they attached to the wheels please? Do you have any fabrication photos maybe?
I hope the weather is good in The Netherlands and you are enjoying driving your car.
Thank you.
Cheers, Deni.

Hello Deni,
The spinners are French,I found them on a auto jumble .
They,re called Robergel and we,re fitted on Citroen- and Peugeot hub caps.
They,re simply bolt on so I had made a steel rim and a round plate for each wheel.
The rim is welded in the wheel and the plate ,whit the spinner bolted on,is bolted on the rim.
Only thing is you,ve to unbolt all 8 small bolts every time the wheel has to be removed
As i am out here now..........
Do all the Sammio,s get so terrible hot in the footwells?
Last time I drove the car with ca.degrees outside and I nearly melted in the car!
Engine temperature looks normal but heat comes trough the bulkhead.
Have a nice day

Hi Jerome,
Thank you for your reply, I will have to try to do something similar and try to fit my spinners if I can. Enjoy the drive and I guess it is better to be warm than cold. ;-)
Cheers, Deni

It's heat from the exhaust. Try wrapping it from the down-pipe back with high temperature tape. It made a big difference to mine.

Hello,
Toke out the Sammio to the"zandvoort circuit" for classic carshow and circuit races.
The first time i went this far ..about 180 mile and nearly all on the highway.
A nice temperature but a firm wind,it blew my cap away
All went well altough temperature in the car was rising!
I enjoyed the races and the variation of cars.
On the way back i had full wind in front which was very windy and due to this circulation temperature in the car was sauna like

Good to see you are still enjoying your car.
Thankfully, when my car is moving, the cockpit temperature is fine.
It is only when I've been stuck in traffic during the heat wave that I start to cook!
Take care, Paul.
