Glad you mentioned this - its the first time I heard about it. Dash will look like a christmas tree at this rate. I wonder what other small differences there are that no-one has noticed yet? I know that the fuel cap has to either have the same key as the ignition or must be tethered, and that you now need headrests. I wonder what other little changes there are hidden away....

Inexpensive shift light at Halfrauds?

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/s...egoryId_165660

I assume that you could replace the ricer boy light pod with something a little less 'Fast n the Furious'

that's horrible, suppose its easy enough to gut and hook up an LED instead of the dash mounted monstrosity it comes with.

Another circuit which may help with rigging up a shift light:

Take for example section 09D requirement 17. Looks like you now need a label specifying the type of brake fluid stuck near to the brake fluid reservoir!

It also looks like the heat shield frequirement for the exhausts are still in the latest version!

No probs.

I have an OCD ex Electronics Engineer (Hello Rob! ) looking over the low fuel circuit, with an aim to add the delay (low fuel signal for 1 min befoe turning the lamp on), and ensure it works with the ETB Gauge and Sender.

Will post details later, once he's come back to me and we've breadboarded it all to make sure it works!

Yay! Pauline has just rung me to say the instruments from ETB have arrived.

Is it time to go home yet?

Can someone sanity check my proposed lighting wiring diagram?

I think it covers everything... The relays get feeds from the fuse box. Do I need one for the dip beam? All of my switch gear is 'heavy duty' bar the column switch.

Duh - I just noticed I have the fogs going from the column switch, meaning they'd turn off when I went to main beam! I guess I meant to tie them to the feed from the headlight side of the main ligting switch.

Lets try that again... I've added a relay for the fog light, and moved dash warning lights to the low current side of their respective relays.

Looks OK to me. But...

What fuse rating are you using? It could be worth fusing the side lights and main headlights separately because of the difference in power requirements.

What about reversing light? Or is it switched via the gearbox?

Yeah, it comes off a switch on the gearbox.

Just had a read of earlier posts in this thread. A couple of comments:
1. You don't need a indicator for dipped beam.
2. One of my IVA fails was the brake fluid label. I've now made on up as per the spec. I'll let you know if its OK later....
3. Filler cap requirement has changed again. It now does not have to be the ignition key, just the key not removable when unlocked.

Well - it's all done! All the wiring is done, all the lights work - bar the missing front indicators.

I'll post some pics up on the website tomorrow. I would have put some up at the weekend, but I was busy for the past 3 days taking my mate's Discovery to bit's in an effort to get it through it's MOT. Which it did this morning - Huzzah!

All I'll say is it's a hell of a lot more agricultural than the Beemer!
