Just to prove I'm not a fair weather/sunny Sunday Spyder driver, here's some shots taken when I picked my lad up from his drama club tonight (sorry they're a bit crap) -

Really, really glad I fitted a heater, with that, a decent pair of gloves and a fur hat the blast home round the bypass really blew the cobwebs out!

Mr T - Good to hear the heater is doing its job.
As I am currently putting together my shopping list of parts to get a similar set up to yours.

One quick question, at one point, I'm sure you were going to add some mesh to the bonnet openings.

Did the plan change, or is it still on the 'to do' list?

Cheers, Paul.

Hi Paul, the main grille has ally mesh behind the egg crate to protect the radiator, but I've decided not to bother putting anything behind the scoop openings. All you can see is bits of engine behind them and there's nothing vulnerable to damage, so it doesn't really need any protection from stones, etc.

The car's amazing fun, even in the winter, and attracts loads of positive attention. This evening I even had some street wise skater boyz tell me my car was 'sick'. Not too sure what they meant but I think they liked it.

Just got back from a 65 mile round trip to take my lad to the pictures in Bury St Edmunds to see Gravity.

Can recommend both the film and the means of transport to get there -

My Spyder turns an ordinary day out into a real adventure!

MisterTowed, what have you used to fix your windscreen to the GRP?
I was planning to use rivnuts but Dave (countach) has warned me off!
I think he's right too!

I used 'Well nuts' - rubber surround with a brass thread core that pulls up under the panel into a doughnut shape. Worked brilliantly.

Popped into King's Lynn this morning, a place Jeremy Clarkson once described as a Town famous for being nowhere near anywhere else in the World.

Here's a few pics of it parked in amongst the moderns -

And, the obligatory selfie (yes, that really is a word now) -

Sorry about the po faced expression - I was concentrating on holding the camera steady instead of enjoying the moment...

Oh, and they are Police riot vans in the background. I parked in one of the thirty minute bays outside the Police Station.

Ha ha! Afraid I've been cutting my own hair, what there is of it, for over thirty years now. Supercuts ain't getting diddly out of me.

Glad you like the photos.

I can recommend the Caberg helmet for winter driving by the way, it kept my face and head warm even though the air was icy cold this morning. The heater, flyscreen, normal outdoor coat, gloves and scarf do enough together to keep the rest of me comfortably warm, but I might just buy a neoprene face scarf for driving when it snows -

Can't decide between them so I might buy both...

Several observations

1. Fancy parking near a hairdressers (hairdressers car!)

2. The price of a haircut 50% of what cost in my local barbers

3. If you wear once of the masks then the police van would be after you as a suspected terrorist.

and they look a little like gint masks from "pulp fiction" "are we cool marcelous"
