Today I woke up at midday after a weekend hosting the Big Bike Bash (
www.bigbikebash.co.uk) and thought I would play with the inlet manifold. i carefully read loads of internet descriptions about how to remove the manifold and then some adaptation you need to make to fit the new one.
After a couple of hours I finally managed to get the inlet manifold removed. i will give full details in a vblog when (if) I finish.
I now have a very simple question. Which throttle body do I now put back on? The old one and new ones are different. I guess the new one will fit the new manifold more easily but the old one will fit the rest of the car better. There is also a very different bit that might be some kind of oil trap which doesn't appear to fit the new manifold at all.
Some photos to help show you what I mean.
If the old bit goes on the new manifold, what do I do about gaskets? The old one had the gasket in the manifold while the new one has it in the throttle body.
