Default First Kitcar?

Hi boys,
Having just passed my driving license obviously I need a car. I don't really fancy boring my self to sleep in a astra or something along those lines on the commute to work everyday... I don't want a kit car because I think it will be cheap/cheap insurance, It's not that, I'm more than happy to pay "normal car" prices. My uncle was in to building his kitcars while i was a kid and the idea of building the car I'm driving always interested me and the exclusivity of being a kit car owner now does just as much. Unfortunately my uncle died 2 years ago and with it all of his knowledge of kitcars.

So i thought the best place to start my search for 2 separate kitcars as a total noobie would be here and dip into your brains for some help.

I need a day to day car to get me into work and I would like a 7 style kit to start a build in my garage as a weekend toy.

my budget is £0-2000 for the everyday car, and the insurance I can always work on.

I have kind of fallen in love with the idea of a Quantum 2+2 or coupe'.

any suggestions?

Regards, Matthew Jerwood
