trim and spinners
Thanks guys for the comments for the car and otherwise
Steve you must have eyes like the proverbial s___ house rat. The rear deck looked a bit ragged so I thought I would try to spruce it up a bit my adding a chrome trim along the back (I had a Alfa Spider that had a similar trim) it's just Chrome vinyl wrap that I got off ebay, took a couple of attempts to get it right because of the curves but looks reasonable at 1st glance. The trim across the bonnet bulge is 3M eight inch stick on chrome trim from the local accessory shop, used a heat gun to mend it and it went on well. I know what you mean about the spinners one nut is always some way behind one of the ears, you just have to position them the best you can so you can get in with a short socket but make sure you have a long rachet or use a bit of tube on the end of the rachet so it does not catch on the tyre. Dont know about your wheels but mine are bolt on wires with no off set so when I initially fitted the spinners they stuck out too far so I machined the down the turret part of the spinners so they didn't stick out too far. I'm having the wheels re- balanced I will run the car up to speed without the spinners to see if they are ok I will then re-fit the spinners to see if they caused the wobble I get on the way down to Stoneleigh. Now that I have some time on my hands I will try to sort out this posting pics. Again thank you all for the encouragement.

Strange, I was going to attach the spinners with short poles, similar to 007's Aston.
Ideal for overtaking cyclists who insist on wearing lycra

I don't think The Lycra Clad Teletubbies must have mirrors in their houses
or they asks their partners "Does my bum look big in this" who take the p--s by saying "No love you look great" Much better to look cool in a great
Tribute.

Can't happen. It is illegal to own a tribute and be an overweight lycra clad cyclist.

I think the trick must be to get one of those fairground Hall of Mirrors versions that turns you into a beanpole. My cycling friends tell me they dub those folk 'MAMILs' - middle aged men in Lycra.

I ride bikes and own a Tribute. My Lycra days are long gone though.
Baggies and a Tee is where the Youf look is now. I is dahn wiz da kidz when I host the Big Bike Bash each year.
Maybe all drivers should be made to dress like sponsored race drivers so that the MAMIL's who dress like sponsored cyclists dont feel 'special'
Just a thought

I find it all a bit tragic really. Fifteen years ago when riding my motorcycle I used to see loads of middle aged blokes poured into race-rep leathers, we dubbed them 'Power Rangers'. Then came 'Long Way Down' and they're now all trying to look like around the world moto-travellers on their Sunday 'adventure' sortie to Starbucks. Sad.

To paraphrase Frank Zappa at the Royal Albert Hall- "Everyone in this life is wearing a uniform."
On topic- I wore my Jago "gear" at Stoneleigh, other tribes were identifiable by their club regalia.
There seemed to be a lot of people from the Superdry and Hollister clubs as well but I didn't see their cars.

Anyone who missed Stoneleigh should try to get to the BBQ, you don't need to be an owner or have a Tribute car.

It will be a great opportunity to see the different models, talk to the real people who have worked on them and talk to Chris.

Would loved to have come to the BBQ but a bit too far from the grim north I'm sure there will be some meets a bit nearer. Off to the Tatton Park Classic and Performance Car Spectacular Show on either Saturday June 3rd or Sunday 4th, Its always a good turn out The Italian Replica Club are always there along with hundreds of classic clubs and stalls. Hope you all have a great time at the BBQ.
