Planned route for drive out. Map shows it and download shows more detail but basically...

1) Meet at Pub at 11am, leave at 11:30am
2) Drive out to the New Forest turning left at the top of the hill BEFORE Ashurst signposted to New Forest Wildlife Park / Deer Leap Lane
3) Head for Beaulieu. There are a few kinks and turns but they are signposted
4) Leave Beaulieu towards Hythe
5) Marchwood by-pass then turn off towards Eling
6) Cross the TOLL BRIDGE(£1.00) at Eling Tide Mill
7) Into Southampton along Millbrook Rd and back to the pub for food

If people do need to meet up along the way that is great.

Remember we plan to meet at 11 and then leave at 11:30am so Kidge & Carole may have to amuse them selves is a quite New Forest lane for half an hour before we get there.

:-)

I will try to drive the route this evening and get some approximate timings although traffic on the day may cock it all up

And I spotted an Ice cream van when I drove the route!

Depending on the traffic, there may need to be some 'spirited' driving to do the loop in the hour.

If you get to the pub before we get back then there shouold be a marked out area for 'show cars' and some room for other cars (and trailers) but the surrounding streets are safe it it gets crowded.

Apparently there are posters up in the pub promoting a 'Classic Car Show'. The show we put on must therefor be Classic I guess

I still plan to come along and have a look at the cars, I'll aim to be there before 11.00. Having committed up front when you mooted the idea, I will pay for the lunch even if I have to dash off early (family travelling down from NE to visit before flying off for their hols).

Barber - If you are there in time for the drive out and want to risk it, I have a spare seat for one.

We can see how it goes on Saturday
