Thumbs up M20 more power for free tip

Can I use fuel pipe as water pipe on the engine?

I'm doing a little mod picked up from Ant on E30 zone (bypass the water thats pumped through the intake = colder air into engine = more power - not needed in the UK as it doesnt get that cold) I have some spare fuel pipe that the right size to run from the back of the block to the thermostat.
