Default Quantum 2+2 Car Advice!

Hi there,

I've had my Quantum 2+2 for about two years now, and i'm really looking to get some advice from other Quantum owners or kit car owners!,

I'm looking to sell my 2+2, but at present it has a few faults with it;

* Alarm not working,
* Blue smoke coming from the exhaust,
* Clicking noise when i'm driving (Goes once the car warms up)

Basically i'm looking to sell it on as i'm looking for a more modern car, i also suffer from carpal tunnel so the steering hasn't helped. I'm only 21 and i have no idea on things like this so i asked around garages to see if i could repair the work but the prices are quite high, so i was wondering if i could get some advice from anybody who knows a bit about cars,

I've been told to just sell the car on in it's present condition, but from yourselves looking at the car and with what's wrong with it, how much would you pay?,

I'm looking for an estimate and whether it's worth selling it on in the condition it's in?

I've also attached a picture.

Any help would be great!

Thank you!

Well there is a Quntum on http://www.carandclassic.com/ for just under £3k.
I don't know whats wrong with yours, but the easiest fix may ne to totally replace the engine/gearbox/drive train with one from a scrappy. But thats going to cost £500 to £1k for the parts plus labour. I don't think overall it would be worth the effort if you have to employ somebody to do the work.

Given that I'd expect you could ask about £1500 for it, an enthusiast could do the transplant themselves.

Looks pretty smart but hard to tell for sure from a photo. I would expect anything up to £3k would be reasonable but it depends on what is causing the blue smoke and clicking noise.

One way to find out is list it on ebay with the known faults, put a reserve on it that you are happy with and see where it gets to.
