I have updated my Flickr pictures tonight.
Fuel level sensor preparation and propshaft fitted.
(the fuel level sensor is still not actually fitted as i have started fitting the wiring loom)

I assume that your "ring of nuts" to fit the fuel level sender will fit inside the tank? Looks like a cunning plan... Methinks I will do the same.

That indeed is a good plan. Rivnuting direct in the tank didnt work so well and I had to use lots sealer!

Yes, the 'ring of rivinuts' is to mount the fuel sensor, but haven't actually tried it yet.
The plan is to hold the ring in place with just two short screws.
Then loosely mounting the sensor with long screws through the tank holes into the ring.
Then remove the short screws and mount the sensor using the correct length screws.

(or I might just glue the ring in place?)

I'll let you all know if I manage to do it without dropping the ring and/or screws into the tank!

that hose looks really nice, im starting to think i should replace mine too. Where did you buy the Sytec hose?

The fuel hose i have in my parts draw is the ihs stuff which doesnt appear to be rated for brake fluid so i will have to buy some new.

Hi Peter

Can you tell me where you got the little plastic ferules that you have use to finish off the end of your brake fluid hose? Did they also come from need for speed? Makes it look like a "proper job"

Robin / Patrick,
they are in fact rubber end caps for braided fuel pipes. I bought them with hose clips but decided that they looked neater without the clips and there is no additional pressure on these pipes.

I bought them from a parts stall at the Uxbridge Auto Show so not sure where you can get some.(This years show is on the 16th July, so could pick some up for you, if the same guy is there?)

On a similar note has anyone worked out what the rubber boots Marlin used on the end of the front wishbones on their new Red demo car? They look familiar but I can't figure out what they are off?

Dunno about the rubber boots, I seem to remember there being something about a part like that in kitcar mag a number of month ago. I'll see if I can dig it out.

As for Diesel power, last I heard they were still working on it - I suspect some chassis mods will be needed to fit the diff from an E46 that goes with the 330d engine.

Thanks for the offer - can you remember if they come in different sizes? They would be handy to finnish all my fuel hose ends as well - and there is quite a variety of sizes (6, 8, 10 and 12!)

I think they only did this size, but i'll take a look when I go next week. I'll also try to get a contact number, if the guy is there this year.

no problem. Do you want two or six? I didn't bother with the ends that fit on the reservoir or the clutch, as they are out of sight.
