That's not a bad idea looking at the cost of the ones Maserati sell!

Good luck, Paul.
Wiring issues . seat covers, general stuff .
One job I intend doing is forming a 5mm screen and have screen posts with an aluminium frame. this will take some time tinkering, so Feb looks like a good time to mot

Then my mums 80th to organise beginning of March. so been too busy/cold to work on the car, but watching classic car show mille miglia last night made me spend an hour on the template for the car windscreen.

progress today. made an oven out of an old locker, two heat guns and some insulation

made a flat sheet raised on blocks to circulate the air
you can see template in the background

trial piece worked but had imperfections. so I decide to use a piece of cotton sheet to lay the screen on. This worked great and made it easy to pull out the hot screen which I lay over the template and held in place until cool. If I do it again I will make a positive and negative to help keep the shape while cooling.

this is the sheet cut oversize

and formed

couple of picturess with the template on still thinking of the screen size and toying with idea of removable wipers

My understanding is that if you look through the screen while driving, then you must have wipers fitted permanently.

As you look over the traditional Sammio screen, it is considered to be a wind deflector and no wipers are required.

Hope that helps, Paul.

PS
The car looks great.

Hi Paul
I think I am going to make a small and larger screen for the best of both. At the moment I'm in the process of making a retaining strip that will be removable. Also having a control panel made, two quotes for the same item one £500 to have design laser cut and £200 for laser etching. the other quote is £90 all in. I made the mistake of sending a picture of the car too the first company . Mind you car does look a million dollars

Hi Carnoob What Paul mentions is correct about the screen and wipers but it did cross my mind what if you get a very small MOT examiner who can't see over the screen so i thought it may be wise to carry a booster seat for the small chap and a whoopy cushion for good measure. Just kidding but you know how some MOT testers can be awkward for the hell of it and they can fail a car depending on how they interpret the regulations.

What control panel are you having made.

Great for when someone cuts you up, or is driving too close.
