Here's a money spinner for Chris

Personally I hate the things, slow and rusty but I know they have a big following and that the splitties go for big money.

If Chris could produce just the front panel or even just the lower front panel it should be easy to graft onto a later bus. Shouldn't be hard to build for the customer to fit or Chris could offer a basic fitting service. Much cheaper than a full body conversion so I think you could sell quite a few. With all the profit Chris could plow some of it back into the Daytona development!

Been done before and not many takers as Bays are worth lots and have their own fans.
A guy in Thailand makes Splitscreen body kits that bolt to Daihatsu

He makes a pretty 550 gullwing coupe on a beetle chassis that I would love.

If it was matched up with a hyabusa engine at the back and made in fibreglass and six seats that wouldn't be too shabby. Lowered space frame with fibreglass shell six sports seats.Cossie transit style

Maybe put it on a beetle chassis with four seats.

If I had the knowledge and competence, as a kit manufacturer I'd look to make the most accurate pre-impact bumper 911 'shell possible. On a Beetle 'pan or spaceframe, the market would lap it up!

I think that Porsche 550 Coupé Gullwing wouldn´t look bad built-up on a Boxter, although without the gullwing doors.

Just thought id ask. Does anyone have any tribute badges I could fit on my car. Id like to put one like the pinini farina badge the word at the bottom and symbol at the top. Their usually located in front of the door and behind the front arch. I saw on on a thread some time ago. Or if anyone knows someone that can make custom badges.

I'm always surprised how large the latest Audi TTs have got compared to the first ones.

Even the MX-5 is bloated now.

Yep, modern sports cars could do with going on a diet. All the extra safety gear, electronic driver aids and integrated 'infotainment systems' (complicated internet/facebook/twitter/TV screens designed to help prevent the driver seeing what or who they're about to crash into) add too much weight and suck the fun out of what should be light, agile cars.

Btw, that's a lowered, lightened Boxster Spyder parked next to an original 550 Spyder. Huge, isn't it.

My ideal car would be a Mercedes SL Gullwing, I've seen a few kits around but always work in progress and never complete. I'd love to see these made again.

These to me they are the most stunning of cars.

You might have a slight problem if you ever try to travel to Germany in one though...
At least according to Google

Travelling to Germany wouldn't be an issue, however just a body shell would be an issue, I'd need a straight body swap something like an Z3 , Mr2 or similar as my knowledge and skill to take a space frame from scratch isn't there

The boxster 986 (1997-2004) is still a good car for a Porsche 550 Coupe Gullwing, as wheelbase is approx 95.2 and the base of an original 550 spyder is 90.5 so with some stretching , not much it will fit in length and even a little bit weighter than the 986.
So I take the 986 as a base for my Porsche project. I have seen the Vintech p550 Gullwing from France, but this is a one-off model and also the Wipeout-Autocraft 550 Gullwing from the Philippines and the one from Thailand 550 Gullwing based on a VW Beetle, I decided to choose for modern technology and classic styling, so front and rear more character of the original coupé.

It has been done as a one-off in the US 2012

Although I donot like the proportions in the front,(front lights/ wings ) it has been an example for me to choose the 986 for the 550 coupé gullwing
