Hello to all, after a long time.
FIRST SAMMIO AIRBORNE!
Remember we built the Sammio in my"" gardenhouse""?Today we lifted it out of my garden...
During last winter we painted the car with a roller, the result is acceptable.
As it was very cold in the gardenhouse I had the car inside my house(no wife=no struggle!)We also worked on the seats( had better bought new ones but they will work)
During may and june I managed to get the wiring and dashboard sorted out and working. The engine is running but not very good,so that has my first attention as I could not do this in house!!
When everything works I have to get Dutch MOT and after that I,ve to go to
the Dutch SVLA(RDW)

Fingers crossed!

Wow, must have been scary having it that high in the air!!

Loving the look at the rear with the inset lights. Any chance of some close ups?

Oh, not the build car in kitchen, lift it over the house with a crane story....we've all done that! :icon_lol:

Amazing. Do you have a friend with a crane or did that need to be added to the build cost?

I love the detailing - especially the frenching of the rear lights.

Nice one.

Brilliant!!!!!

And a superb looking car as well :)

tlrtone 26th July 2013 19:42

Fantastic Story!

well done and looks lovely. Great details and finish.

Great pictures and the car's looking very nice. Love the colour, it really suits it. Is the exhaust heat shield a production part from another car or did you fabricate it yourself?

Looking forward to see it with the bonnet fitted, are you going to lift it back over the house to finish the little details?

garyh 27th July 2013 18:42

Great colour, painted with a roller it came out very well. Can i see more pics of the air filter.

Jerome 28th July 2013 06:26

Thanks for all your comments!

I had to hire the crane so that should be added to the buildingcosts, which i've
stopped counting long time ago.
It wasn,t cheap so the Sammio won't go in the garden again,it is now in a small hired box with no electricity...
I hope i don,t have to weld or grind anymore(for now)and i can finish it in the
box.
I will sent much more pictures (with the hood on etc )a.s.a.p

I don't think you will forget your build in a hurry.
The long silence is now understood as you couldn't get to the computer because the car was in the way! I hope you didn't do the sanding in the house! It is amazing how many cars are being constructed in not so ideal conditions. Much respect to you guys.
The car looks great, very period and look forward to more pictures later.

Some pics off my airfilter:because off the insert in my hood I could not realise
another scoop.
I looked for pancakes but ebven that was too high,so i found n airbox from a
Triumph 2000 and welded some things and use an open airfilter.

It looks like it will work but i haven,t driven yet:icon_sad:

Jerome - Your car has some very nice / interesting modifications.

Do you have any more photos / details of how you made the front inner wheel arches?

Also when you say you painted the car with a roller, was that after the usual preparation with filler and lots of sanding?

Whilst I have wheeled a motorcycle (or two ) into various houses in the past, I've never put a car inside one!!

But your photos of the car being craned over the top of the house are very spectacular.

Good luck with the rest of your build, Paul. :)

Finally MOT!
Lots of trouble with ignition, carburettor and electric but it works fine at the moment! With help of a friend who is a mechanic.

We've driven it home yesterday for 80km's.
Cold but fantastic!

Unfortunately the gearbox is broken, the 3d gear sync seems to be broken...
So, if anyone has another gearbox or ideas.......

Lots of pictures ;)
