Looking very good.
My preference on my car would be just a touch lighter, with the same colour on all surfaces and not shiny- for that period feel.
Probably Alcantara in the right colour would do....

Yes those crates engines and gearboxes are good value especially as they include most of the ancillary bits you need. may turn out to be the cheapest part of a conversion though once you factor in...

Been there, done that. Fitted a classic Mountney 10" leather wheel to my Lotus Seven S1 which had a much smaller PCD. Used an adapter plate made of 12swg aluminium.
