2nd annual Tribute Automotives Owners Club Meeting
I am thinking of doing the 2nd annual Tribute Automotives Owners Club meeting in 7 years.
My current thinking is that to encourage you northern lot from Winchester, Reading and even further afield I would hold the event on the same weekend in September as the big Beaulieu Automotive Jumble. The TAOC meet would be at 3pm, drive through the New Forest until 4pm when we arrive at a pub to swap stories, talk bollocks, eat and drink until you decide to leave.
The idea is that if you are coming down to Beaulieu you can have the whole morning and most of the afternoon doing that and still make time to join the meet or you can come down for the meet, stay over night and then do the autojumble on the Sunday. If you have never been to the autojumble before it is well worth going, just wear comfortable shows and bring a trolley of you are looking to buy heavy stuff. There are thousands of stands selling pretty much anything you could possibly need for your build, the trick is finding it.
I will arrange the times, drive route, pub. You will turn up, drive, buy your food and drink.
Please give me some feedback on the idea.
Will you come? Yes, May be, No
Do you like the idea? Yes, No, Not coming so my views don't count
What can be improved*? *If it costs then you are paying

Will you come? Yes - hoping the car will be done by then even if not painted.
Do you like the idea? Yes
What can be improved*? Nothing - be good to put faces to names.

I won't be able to make it as I'm away on holiday.
The last meet was Southampton, maybe a little fairer to Northern owners to move the venue a little further North/central.
We could do with a map showing owners locations and so feedback from northern owners.
Of course, there could be a Southern meet and Stoneleigh for the Northern meet.

My current thinking is to do a trial run earlier in the summer and then a late summer one if it goes well.
Perhaps around the Henley on Thames area for the first run. The M4 gives good access and it is a bit further north. If people like that they may then be tempted to come south for the Beaulieu run.
Of course, anyone else is welcome to organise the same kind of thing more local to them.

I would be happy to arrange a meet at somewhere such as Prescott Hill Climb near Cheltenham.
If people are interested I'll do it. For me its more local and the hill climb action adds a lot to the day. The venue in the Cotswolds is worth a visit in its own right and facilities on site are pretty good as is the Bugatti museum in the grounds.

I don't think you can really call Henly On Thames "the North'
I think the residents would be most upset!

If their butler sees this they will be livid...
They are even north of me - only 15 miles north mind you. Nice Tesco there - if want to find me on a Sunday I’ll be buying mangoes there

There is a posh members club in Henley. I got a police caution as a kid for graffiti on the sign at the entrance. I just added two letters about a foot tall in bright red rattle can paint.

I think we all would have liked to have done that.
