Default New to forum...interested in Sammio/Ribble

Hi all,
just been reading a few posts about the Sammio body irregularities. Fear not, as a professional modelmaker (and ex clay modeller for the German car industry) I can tell you that all those ludicrously expensive aluminium bodies on the kind of classic racers that the Sammio is meant to suggest are the most appallingly cock-eyed creations you ever saw. Regularly out by as much as 32mm either side of centre, on wheel arches, etc., etc.
Even a brand new Passat Estate was 7mm out, banana shaped when we measured it with Stieffelmeyer measuring machines and that was straight off the production line at Wolfsburg.
Our clay models had to be accurate to 0.1mm!! Nothing on the road ever was or can be.

Could someone explain what a Cordite is as distinct from a Pilot or Navigator, please. I might have access to my son's Mk1 GT6 chassis.

Cheers,
Martin
