Unhappy ecu

my bmw engine runs a waste spark system operated by the MBE912 ecu which is playing up, it appears it is now out of date and SBD are of no help in the matter, anyone got any advice, I understand this ecu if pretty bombproof and it is the 5 pin output drivers that fail, the engine is on webbers, looking at the MBE site they now only do a ignition only ecu for 4 cylinders!.

There are ECU repairer out there on Google but I have heard different reports on some of them.

The real problem may be sourcing the new IC's chips.

If its just the line drivers there is always the possibility of changing them out, all you need to do is find a company that manufacture SMT PCB systems or a TV repair man with good eyesight.

I have a Auto Tech Services company close to me if your really on the edge with no other option I can put you in-touch, they fix auto electronics but may not be cheap.

More to the point I trust them and would personally recommend them, that said your job may be outside their remit, you will not know until they are asked...

If you can't get it repaired I'd be looking at something like this........

http://trigger-wheels.com/store/cont...49_mj_bmw.html
(scroll down once you get the website...)
Since you have carbs, you only need a spark ECU then the second M20 kit listed should be petty close to what you need and this ECU is mappable.

I've not used this company but they seem to have a very comprehensive list of applications.

This looks like an interesting upgrade project - good luck!
