I'm sure the owner must be mortified , if it was your car I know you would be . When I had a look around the car I couldn't pick any faults with it , I thought it was superb for a mere " Kit Car ". I understand this car has seen some track action in poor conditions and spun off. I'm sure that if the owner is happy to take part in track days ( just like the lucky few with the real thing ) then he won't be put off by a tiny stress crack in the paint.
I had a look at your car too and thought it was built to a very high standard. I know you had a few blemishes in the paint but they are now sorted ( well I couldn't see anything wrong with it ). Perhaps if you want perfection you should be looking beyond a budget panel swop on an ageing Z3 donor ??

Not sure what your idea of a "budget" is ? I do know Scott has invested a lot of money in his car.
The problems that arose were not of his making so I can't understand your take on this.

All things being equal the Tribute range are at the budget end of the replica / kit car market. Yes , you can spend a lot of money if you have your car built by a build agent ( time is money ) and that's the route smash has taken. Comparisons have been made with DNA but their products cost £1000's more to get on the road and that's my point. I think Nubodi and Tribute offer a very good product at the price . Compared to many other kits on the market ( Cobra's and the like ) they are a bargain.

The owner understands that on a glass fibre bodied car where two panels butt together there is always the possibility of a movement crack (especially after a track day).
The general public were amazed and enthused about the car and did not get involved with 'nit picking' for their own gratification.
We have booked his car in for three weeks time and will be trying a technique of metal curved rods resin-ed into the join to support it along with other modifications, at our expense of course.
The proud owner (see this months Kitcar magazine) appreciates it was our first Koupe build and were learning on the job. We learn everyday which makes better future builds. We were pleasantly surprised that there were not too many more issues and 98% was great.

Looks like a quality moulding though, anyone any idea of the company producing it, donor etc.?
P*ssed off I missed the show this year, some really nice cars pictured so thanks to anyone who uploads some.

Hi, I think this is a Prova Designs mold.
Its donor is a Boxster and Regal Classics are building it for a client who has or might have just sold a White DC Diablo.

It's a Prova body shell. It will be turn key only build to spec by Regal Classics. The guy behind Regal is incredibly into detail - he built the quad turbo V12 orange Diablo. Besides owning the Prova molds he also owns DC Supercars Diablo bodies as well as Mirage Countach. He likes his Italians!
The floorpan underneath there is.....a Boxster. No chassis mods, no IVA but not sure how that works with windscreen but anyway. 3.2S turnkey starts at £55k

Bobs car may buck the replica slave trend but the paint finish taken in combination with the straightness of panels - that's the one to beat.

I have to admit this year had more vehicles finished to a high standard.
The candy red cobra on the stand was gorgeous but if it was parked outside amongst the other cobras its just another cobra replica.
The kebab is brilliant, the ally gutters and detailing around the door frames, the period colour and the steel wheels just worked.
Parked at Goodwood or any other classic meet it would look very much at home.

I would have liked to have seen Bob's car,
Shame I went yesterday, I have put a couple of his ideas on my build.
I agree the cobra's were streets ahead of most stuff on show with regards to fit and paint finish, plus the fantastic detailing in engine bays etc.

Any idea why DNA put that big flat step after the boot?
It looks like they took a mould off an MG RV8 (or whatever the rerun mugs were called) and then realised the boot was too short.
That and the petrol flap were the most jarring points on the body. I wasn't a big fan of the sharp line along the side but Andysharroc liked that bit. I guess it is each to their own.
