Still doing some planning whilst waiting to collect the kit mid-Nov. One of teh things I'm quite keen to do is to install a Digidash www.etbinstruments.com in the car. Has anyone else done this, and does anyone know if theres likely to be any issues doing this. E.g. conflicts with the Engine Management Unit over sensors etc being different?
I am using a digidash in my type r kit
As for the sensor the ones for the dash are indipendant to the ecu (Kpro)
I fitted an extra light in my dash panel for an engine management light
I got a tee piece made for the coolant system to fit the water temp sensor
I have a remote oil pressure line in order to fit the oil pressure sender and a remote oil filter to fit the oil temp sender
I have fitted the speed sensor to the fixed drive shaft the bit that is bolted to the engine
I was looking at fitting this but I spoke to a few people that had it fitted in other cars and they said its good but if the sun gets on it they cant see much and during a race thats not much good, be good to see how you guys gte on with them.
Yeah I was gonna try and set mine back in the binicle to reduce glare too.
Unfortunately it seems I may have to wait alittle longer for the chassis, according to Terry yesterday the move has not gone as smoothly as planned so its likely to be late Nov/Early Dec at the earliest now.
It is SVA compliant as long as it's used with the optional lighting unit (then it's called the 3950).
This unit is fitted as standard to a few kit cars that are factory built (Spire is one)
Nope that wasn't one I'd come across before its quite similar in style in someways to http://www.race-technology.com/dash2_2_31.html that is SVA compliant so am sure the Acewell one is too with illumination as you say.
The main reason I'm considering the ETB one is it seems the best compromise between functionality (inc datalogging) and price. But there's plenty of more umming and erring yet before I make a decision
