Phantom GTR / Vortex Builders come on in
If you've built or are building a Phantom GTR / Vortex then this is the place to share your experience with fellow enthusiasts.
The Phantom is arguably (without doubt in my mind) the prettiest kit car to be produced thus far so it's only right there should be a section on the Madabout Forums dedicated to it.
You can make it as successful as you want, this is your forum.
Cheers, John

I've already told Ed about it, I'm sure he'll be on here shortly... It's all his fault I bought mine and am now collecting high end audio!

Just posting this to show I'm around, Had mine on the road for two years now and it hasn't failed to start yet!
Off to the States for two weeks from Wednesday so I'll expect to see at least 100 pages when I return.

Would love to see more pictures in the Phantom Gallery for those of you that have completed your cars. Just love the look of it and would like to gather up as many pictures as possible from as many angles. Saw a picture on PH I think it was of a Lambo Orange one which looked the dogs dangly bits.
Direct link to the Phantom gallery is here....

Ricola this one just looks so right (I'm guessing it's been photoshopped)
What colour are you planning for yours.

Yes, that' a photoshop, also lowered more than is feasable unfortunately.
The front running colour for mine is the newish BMW silver, kind of a dull finish like titanium (will have to find out its proper name), with black leather interior.

Another Builder Joins This Group
Most of you guys know me from Pistonheads but this looks like a welcome new home for those of us with grease to the elbows and heavy frowns putting a Vortex together
Mine's at rolling chassis stage (since last Autumn) and I hope with the warmer weather to get back on it and - maybe - get it done this year.
It's a very early shell that I took over as an un-stated project so it's lacking a few of the later mods. Norman changed the whole suspension as mine had dodgy early (weak) parts.
Bog standard low-miles manual 2.7 with air-con. Now getting on to electrics and thoughts of paint and trim. Not sure whether to get the body painted before dropping on to chassis - looks like some of you guys are doing it that way round. Colour choice keeps changing - was to be Peugeot Aegean Blue or Subaru WRC blue but quite fancy pealescent black. That Candy Red does look great on the "works" car. Also have a Corsa electric column and am looking to maybe build that in - not sure yet.
I'll keep you posted and put up some pictures when I get time.
Cheers
Greg

Hi all,
nice to have another place to chat. Not much progress over the last month - still at the loom stage, at this rate I might even take longer than Phantoms official loom maker !
