Tribute MRS200
The new Tribute MRS200 is a body conversion kit for the Toyota MR2 Mk3 Roadster.
The car is the brainchild of Andy McMillan who originally built the car as a one-off for himself, but saw the potential market for the kit and approached us to produce a set of moulds and market the kit.
Andy's car has a Toyota 3 litre V6 conversion, but would work equally well with the choice of standard engines. The base car requires the factory standard hardtop roof to be fitted before the kit is bonded on. The car is IVA exempt with no cutting of the base cars bodyshell.
Andy has put a lot of thought into items such as lights, making them affordable by using readily available units from the Ford Sapphire rather than the now rare Mk1 Sierra rear lights.
Kit price is to be confirmed, but will be finalised by the time the car launches at Stoneleigh in May.
Moulds are now made and production timescales will be announced soon.

Ha, what to I win for for getting it right (especially at it was upside down), as previously stated not a big ford fan but these are something special I have craved one of these since the 80,s.

Nice! Its really good good to see all the innovation going into kits such as this and the more "body conversions" that are out there, the more i hope they'll be accepted as simply another another option rather than looked down on by the "build it from scratch " brigade.
I can see this being a big seller!

Just what I was thinking. It's funny how some cars captured the imagination as a teenage lad. I have always liked this car but never really been able to work out why.
I hope to see the four-driving-lamps pod as an optional extra.

Fantastic, great use of an MR2. Looks like I've got to update the the Tribute listing again
....hang my head in shame. Just went to update the Tribute listing only to discover I hadn't added you yet. I don't know how I missed that. I'll get onto it now.

Yes, I know, it's just the fact that I find myself planning a build when I am less than halfway through a Sammio.

Much as i admire anybody who would build an RS200 , i dont think that this specific conversion works , the windscreen/roof line when viewed from the front look wrong and gives the impression of the car being sat on . Know i understand the reasons behind using the existing windscreen and i hope that in the summer depending on how busy Tribute are i may also have a *old* car based on something new and this comment may come back to bite me , Geoff .

It's not a perfect body copy, but then it's not a perfect price match either
It's fooled some die-hard RS Club chaps already, so it can't be all bad. It certainly turns heads.

When I thought I seen 1 of these being built, It was this exact 1 courtesy of Rob @ ColourTech!

It was indeed all Rob's work - something I have always said - never claimed to have done it myself!
He is a bodywork God and cheap as chips too!

Sorry, should have said "had the car built as a one-off for himself".
Idea by Andy.
Built for Andy by Rob @ ColourTech.
Moulds of finished car produced by Tribute.
Kits available for everyone!
I may have just found an MR2 Roadster for sale just up the road from my house.......
