Help wanted in rebuilding THE SAMMIO MOTOR COMPANY
Hoping not to unset JG.
Most of you know what's been happening and what I am trying to do the SAMMIO brand.
Some forum members have been in contact offering there support to which I say thank you.
And yes, SAMMIO it is now an official trade mark.
In light of this I would like to create a logo or icon and the best people to ask for help in this are you the SAMMIO builders and users.
I would like it to say THE SAMMIO MOTOR COMPANY and as simply as possible so it can be reproduced not only on paper but also as a car badge.
That said I know this forum is full of cleave people so I am open to any suggestion or ideas.
I have found a badge for the Spyder (photos to follow) but nothing for the SAMMIO name it's self.
I have also found a guy who will cut grills from stainless steel so a SAMMIO logo/icon set in a grill "Maserati style" would be really some thing.
Just as a but of fun if some body comes up with a design I like I will give them the first grill free-of-charge
Please don't PM me your ideas just show them on the thread.
Not quite blue peter but fun any way
Regards
Mike

G-46
Hi, I've just joined the forum so please excuse any ignorance
Having done several successful engine conversions etc I looked to what I could do next and wanted to build something evocative of 50s/60s cars but capable of handling a bit of power; not wanting to go the cobra route and Iva minefield I hit upon the use of the scimitar chassis and then found images of the g-46
Yes!! Exactly what I'm after, then confusion set in as I try to discover whether the body is still available
So my question is are they still available and from whom even if the body requires quite a lot of prep
Any advice would be welcome
Many thanks
Don

V8don - Welcome to the forum.
I'm sure Mike ( Micky1Mo) will be along with the proper answer shortly.
In the meantime, scroll down to Post #35 on the thread linked below.
Where you will find a similar G-46 question (and the answer).

Hope that helps, Paul.

As a clear distinctive logo it looks good but given it's not a widely recognised symbol, which in todays proliferation of 'euro' symbols could mean anything, I feel it needs support from text.
If there is no way of incorporating the name in the logo it needs the support with the word Sammio nearby and in my opinion in a clear modern font, rather than a script. That would reflect the modern adaptation of am old basis, perhaps? not sure I am expressing it well but it's a mixture of old and new but not overtly.

Ed, good thinking, I would like SAMMIO in the logo, any chance of a design?
how about SAMMIO around the top of the circle?
Regards
Mike

Despite having a Mac filled to the brim with the latest design software I am not the greatest design artist, I have ideas but I recognise a good design artist is a real gem, I came up with the idea for my own Marlin Logo but it was actually designed by a friend of a friend who is a full time pro design artist, it literally took him two minutes to create.
We have the logo stitched in sweatshirts and overalls.
I wonder if it would be possible to put the SAMMI in front of the large 'O' (circle) somehow ? Possibly with each letter getting larger to form a triangle...

Why not just re-purpose the old Ribble Logo and replace the R with an S?

And there is probably room on top for "Sammio Motors" or the like in small script.

For what it worth i would be going for something completely new from what has been used in the past bearing in mind the legal issues with past and present owners.

In that case why use the Sammio name!... Not exactly a byword for quality?

The Ribble logo is OUT.
We have to remember that for now this .logo is to be cut out of stainless steel so it's got to be simple.
What about some think like the Ford logo but with SAMMIO in the oval?

How about a simple yet subtly stylised double 'S' for Sammio Spyder logo -
And I can't see there being any problems with previous users of the symbol complaining about breach of copyright...
I'll get my coat.
