MX250 Front lights
What have people done with the frame that's behind the front lights as I can't get the light pod to fit. Do I cut the frame ?

Cut it away, I cut the back off the plastic bowl, it’s not needed .

Can also do a bit of reshaping with a hammer .
I (when I built my two cars) did cut away a bit of the metal and cut away some of the black plastic light bowl to ensure it fitted.

Thanks. I didn't want to start removing the front again so grinded some of the metal through the light hole then re shaped with a hammer which looks to have done the job.

I have just done this on my Mk2, and all I needed to do was straighten the flanges and knock the corners down. Seems to provide enough clearance.
The kit now rests on the front slam panel corners, so I need to tweak to get it even side to side.

I left the buckets intact and chopped an excessive 75mm wedge off each corner. Replated it, but now sits with clearance to accommodate everything.

Hi, I'm getting myself a bit confused with fitting the headlamp buckets and lamps.
#1 There doesn't seem to be an obvious 'this way up'.
That said, the lights only seem to fit in one way, but when fully assembled the hole for the wiring is offset from the top by 10 degrees or so. Is this correct? The buckets are not handed so the hole is outboard on one side and inboard on the other. The adjusters are at the top and to one side, so this seems correct.
So please help to confirm whether it is correct from the photos?
#2 How do I wire these lamps up? I have a Mk2.5, so I have 3 connectors; side lights, dipped main and main.
On these lights I have two connectors, the one for she side lights (angel eyes) you can see in the picture and one for the H4 bulb.
How do I make the two connectors for dipped and main work with the single set of wires for the H4 bulb?
Many Thanks!

Not a Tribute, but a similar headlight bowl arrangement.
Your beam adjustment screws at 9 & 11 o’clock (ish)…
Correspond with the larger holes you can see here at 9 & 12 o'clock, which are the same on both sides.
This is the two part bowl system fitted.
And you can see the rubber grommets for the beam adjusted screws poking through on the other side here:
Hope that helps, Paul.

That helps a lot thanks Paul.
So I can see the whole for the wiring to exit is approx 11 o'clock (1 o'clock on the reverse side picture).
So is that the same both sides, i.e. the bowls are not handed - correct?
I think that's the case on mine at least. That's what confused me as I thought that would be top centre or bottom centre so as not to be handed.

Correct.
In these photos, you can see the wires on the driver's side have to travel a bit further than the wires on the passenger side.
Good luck, Paul.
