Like everyone has said, you need to see a finished car... this looks great.

Whats also interesting in that shot as well , is how central the cockpit looks with its long overhang at rear...

I remember this picture nailed to your wall in the work shop when we came down to buy the G46 and yes the central cockpit long overhang looks stunning.

interesting variation on the flip up bonnet also. Looks like the Ferrari hinges half way along. Stop the issue with headlight alignment etc, but how do you top up the radiator? Maybe a small child is required!

..The radiator fill point isn't so far up front as you may think...

Oh and while I'm hogging this thread ...anyone going down the Ferrari bonnet pin route might find these interesting..
The DIY route was paved by a US chap who popped along to his nearest 'Home Depot' (equiv: Homebase) for the parts for a few cents.
I was quoted £319.00 for 4 of the Swedish pins...

Great site. These e-type alloy/leather seats look like good value -
A snip at only £975 each, presumably plus vat. I get the feeling if they could charge in guineas they would.

Ferrari 625 TRC Spider sells for astonishing £4m at Monaco auction
I know Garry is beginning to doubt the G46.
Its a big project and it has taken a while for it to mature as the spyder and cordite variations steal his attention.
But the yahoo headline today might help motivate and sell a few more
A Ferrari has become one of the world's most valuable cars after it was sold at auction for an incredible
£4m.
The Ferrari 625 TRC Spider
Petrolheads shelled out more than £26 million at the RM Auctions event in Monaco, with ten cars fetching in excess of £800,000 (€1 million) each.
But it was this stunning 1957 Ferrari 625 TRC Spider which stole the show after a bidding frenzy broke out among wealthy investors.
The auction house was hoping the car would fetch around £2.4 million (€3m) but, as with many classic Ferraris, this proved to be a conservative estimate.
Jaws dropped around the hall when the hammer eventually went down at £4 million (€5,040,000) - making it the star lot.
One of just two ever built, the 55-year-old car has been described as "one of the prettiest ever Ferraris" boasting a "design without fault".
The 1950s racer was originally fitted with a 2.5-litre engine but underwent a full restoration in 1982 and now has a 3-litre V12 engine which develops 320bhp.

Only £4 million? Did nobody tell Chris Evans it was being auctioned?

I remember reading somewhere that the tachometers on old race cars were often put in at jaunty angles so that the needle was pointing straight up when a gear change was needed.
Fab looking car though. As for the non-original engine, can't you put a Ford Zetec engine and box in for about a grand?

The tacho's could also be set inverted, but its a matter of personal preference..
..certainly more 'manly' than the fairy lights currently in vogue (IMHO).
If I was paying that much for a Ferrari I'd want matching numbers..(that's a joke by the way)
..what I'd really like is Gary to tell me my re-bodied Scimitar is available for collection. I've recently bought a chainsaw so I'm itching to make some spiderish mods...

Chainsaw as Mr Punch would say "that's the way to do it!" It would be good to see another G46 actually under construction, I know of another local to me that's gone off the Garry to be re-bodied last week.

Well I don't wish your local colleague any harm but tell him to get in the queue behind Patrice and me!
I appreciate Gary has had some issues getting the launch of the Cordite out of the way and Stoneleigh, but I sent my Scimitar down to him in February for the re-body and I'm still waiting....still in the great scheme of things three months isn't very long..
I wasn't convinced I could get the cutting/fitting/bonding right. However having seen a certain build thread featuring a certain G46 being de-constructed and re-constituted with a v8, (nice work by the way) I have no doubts that I could have tackled this myself. Sadly I misjudged the length of time this out sourced element of the build would take.
I shot myself in the foot a bit as I was keen for Gary to strip my donor and fit the body (to ensure all was correct and speed up the build) as I had given a deposit to the guys at GOME for entry to the London to Athens run in September, and was hopeful that it might generate some continental business for Gary (20 countries in 10 days) if not for the G46 (now on his back burner) then for the Spyder or Cordite, unfortunately even if the car was available to collect now I couldn't finish in time, so I'm a bit disappointed. I gave myself a deadline, which is now passed, so I'm having to withdraw from the tour. Still it now means I will be able to spend a little more time and money on the car when it does become available.
I'm a fairly relaxed and laid back individual and know if it all goes horribly wrong I always have recourse to legal action, although I doubt if that will be necessary. I've seen comments made on other web sites regarding these types of delays, especially where deposits are taken and people can get a bit ratty with each other, but its usually just lack of communication.
As a customer of what must be described as the 'alternative motoring scene', we're not talking about giving a deposit to the Ford main dealer and awaiting next day delivery.
Gary has promised me that the body is now constructed and will be given a trial fitting shortly...
Meanwhile I'm getting very restless as I want to crack on, and seeing other peoples builds on here is great in some ways (ideas and short cuts) but in other respects a bit depressing...!
(Are you planning to allow a mould or two to be pulled off yours? it has everything going for it that the G46 v6 Mk1 doesn't - according to some!)
Look forward to more pictures of the build.
