I'm leaving it unpainted. I really like the Peter Giacobbi car, the raw, rough bodywork gives it a unique character. Whilst the body on my car is straight in comparison, I'm going to create a similar overall look.

Hooray, you will not regret it, and can always paint it later if you cannot live with it.

Back in the day when I raced single seaters I went under No 12 in my club. So I'll go with faded roundels with my old number . The Scuderia shields turned up today, I'll need to tone them down a bit before they are fitted. I could make a mask from them and paint them on faintly to match the roundels ?

Yeh, no problem. I'm onto finishing touches over next week or so. I'll get some video posted on youtube soon as well.

Lucky – I was secretly hoping you would leave the car unpainted.
As the raw aluminium finish gives your car such a cool original old racing car look.
The original Ebay advert appeared to be just a bunch of old parts lying around.
So hats off to your vision to turn them into something really special.
Good luck, Paul.

This is one of my more involved projects, that's for sure ! My previous project, a 1949 Triumph Roadster was dragged out of a barn before being given a 4 year restoration. That had a structural ash frame to content with too ! I've attached a photo.

Triumph only needed a valet then and some detailing!! LOL.
The Testarossa looks great in the garage, however I am looking forward to pictures taken outside basking in some lovely spring sunshine.

Progress has slowed a little as my father has recently passed away. A shame as he was keen to see the car on the road and was always supportive of my projects. He was a bit of a car enthusiast back in the day and owned all sorts of what are now very interesting and highly prized collectable cars.
I still hope to have the car complete and on the road for the Bromyard Speed Festival on the 7th of April.

Lucky - Sorry to hear about your dad.
By chance, I was speaking to one of my best mates yesterday as his dad has just died too.
Take care, Paul.

LLM, I am sorry to hear of your loss. Keeping busy can be therapeutic, but remember not to push yourself too hard. The car will be just as fantastic in May as it will be in April.

99.9 % there now, here are a few photo's taken today. Ready for the MOT later this week. There are a couple of little jobs to do and I'm waiting on some springs for the bonnet and boot catches. I want to tweak the bonnet a little too to improve the gaps and general fit. I did buy a pre formed bonnet blister / bulge but when it arrived it was only half the length I was expecting so I need to re visit that later ! I decided against the roundels, I did try out one on the door but it didn't look as good as I thought it might so its just going to be ali all over !
If you buy Octane magazine later this week you might see an advert for my car for sale in the classifieds. I'm just testing the water so to speak but I think it will attract a fair bit of interest !
