This is slightly off topic (my apologies) but walking back from the garage this morning i saw a morris minor parked up and the first thing i thought when i saw it was "those chrome bonnet hinges would make great G46 door hinges"! Just an idea.

Now back to our scheduled program.....

Thanks, that of course is the issue how pitted will they be, howerver now that the other suggestion Moggie Minor hinges has surfaced I must be able to get some on line somewhere as Charlie reminded me we need two pairs and a herald boot only has one pair, picky, picky, picky!!!!!!!!!!

Thought I would check out the M Minor hinges £28 a pair!

http://www.morrisminorspares.net/sho...at=All&x=0&y=0

At least it is only 55p for the gasket although you need 4.

This place does 1950's Morris Oxford hinges : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MORRIS-OXF...-/170572583725

It might be cheaper for us to find a Hindustan Ambassador dealer who will ship a box over to share between us.

I'm not sure if the Minor hinges might curve too much ...they are sided as well with a compound curve fitting....I'd play with some cheap s/hands one first , maybe ?

The Herald ones are sided as well but a much shorter hinge therefore less of a curve issue...

I have just bought a pair off of here from ANDYP57 ...Might be worth askiing on here .....

aren't the Scimitar rear hatch hinges similar from memory ?

Well I put the deposit down and ordered my sammio spyder kit today.

Had a long chat with Gary which was great. Thanks for spending the time with me!

The doner vitesse is getting stripped and some things have already gone on that well known auction site. All is looking good

Hopefully be ready for my kit the end of feb. On the road for summer!

Default Hinges

Not sure if suitable but the previous link on the forum for suppliers, leads nicely to these hinges

http://shop1.actinicexpress.co.uk/sh...&search=Search

Just another option
Cheers Psycho

Umm. my Scimitar doesn't appear to have any hinges. i lifted the handle on the tail gate glass and then just managed to catch it before it hit the ground. :-(

I shall be down with my deposit in the next couple of weeks.
