Bougt this on the bay, but didn´t like the brushed look of the spokes... So sanded it down with 320, 400, 600, 800 and finaly 1200 grit wet sanding paper. (320 grit was dry and and machine sanded), then just polished the spokes with Autosol. Wanted a stripe in metallic gray, like the classic Nardi steering wheel, so i scuffed the clear on the wood and used a fineline masking tape an then used a brush to fill in. After that 2 layers of 2K clearcoat.

That's quite some transformation. Wasn't sure about the 'wheel as bought, but I really like what you've done with it. Nice work!

Thanks for those warm replies! It really oils the gears and keep me running! Thanks!
I guess you learn every day... My fiancee told me that if i was talking about her i should type fiancee not fiance. I used google translate and i can see she has a point there....

As always when i buy a car (i never learn) i buy the cheapest. My car is a -91 1.6 liter version with out all extra. It has the smallest brakes (230mm rotors). So i bought corrado G60 rotors for front. (280mm). The idea was too keep the stock calipers, and relocate them. I know there is a kit for this out there somewhere, but that is for NB brakes. So i had to make mine.
If you do this yourself, remember it is on your own risk! This may not be road legal!

This is what is needed to relocate the calipers. a 7mm thick steel with a cc of 120mm and 23mm. holes are 10mm diameter. I also machined a ring to locate the corrado disc. The two m10x35mm bolts are to bolt the plate with

As the new disc has a lot larger diameter, the caliper bracket needs a little grinding at the ends. I grinded away about 2mm...

This is the new rotor and the stock unit. Stock rotors are 18mm thick new, and corrado is 22mm. So i machined of 2mm at each side. Take care when doing this and dial it in carefully before start cutting, otherwise the brakes will pulsate as hell. I also drilled gas holes in the new discs, and a friend of mine phosphated them so they wont rust. The phosphate will come of the friction area.

Mounted and ready. Almost. I have ordered EBC Yellowstuff pads for front and rears too, very good track pads. Works fine with glowing brakes! New wheels with sticky toyo r888´s too. I will transform the rear brakes too. Awaiting new rotors, 276mm (ordered from germany) so will do rears in the coming week!
Cheers, Andreas!

Nice work, it always helps if you can stop when you're driving a home built car!
Can't believe the huge difference between the saucer sized 230mm discs and dinner plate 280's You can clearly see how much extra surface area, and subsequent ability to shed heat, that the bigger ones have. Keep up the good work.

Looks just great Chris! Bet that if they allready picked it up, it should come shortly. Bet they don´t want to store it that long...
Been working on car this weekend. Job was to replace ecu with aftermarket, and choice was megasquirt that i bought second hand from a very nice guy (same as i bought the coilovers from). So had to fiddle a bit with it as it has been used on a NB miata with 1.8 litre engine with turbo. Wiring is totaly different, so there was some soldering done, but now it running just great! Also changed injectors to 450cc, as the engine might see some boost in the future!
Megasquirt up and running! Uses the stock harness, no need to cut stock wiring as it used OEM style connectors!
When doing this the very restrictive air flow meter can be deleted, as the MS uses MAP-sensor.

Got me some stuff from UK! Hanged it up with a couple of crews and some ducktape! Took it out to look at the lines of the car!
