John C you have the Gallop modified original Marlin hubs? John I you have the phase 2 Marlin hubs.

The 160 brakes will not off any benefit in terms of disc contact area on John I's car. The later Marlin hub is a peculiar item they massively offset the caliper to provide clearance to the arms and hub. The 160 caliber sets the inside of the pad at the same point as the lesser caliper but is 10mm deeper for the larger disc.

And I think thats where my problem is. I have heard, Marlin needed to modify the hub for someone else to get it all to work. A winter job to Marlin me thinks. Got to be down to the hub mount points for the carrier.

I wonder how Craig got one with his setup.

If that's the case can you use the original 200 carrier (i.e. short throw), 160 calliper (i.e. larger piston) and the Almeara disk (260mm disk) as a combination?

There is a chance that will place more of the pad on the disk!

Hi John.

This was one of the three options I thought of above. It will use more of the pad, but not as much as yours use. Would prefer the way yours look.

The calipers at present will not fit the standard carriers. The carriers will need tweeking.

Do you have a picture by any chance John of your hub/carrier/caliper combo? Interested how the carrier mounts to the hub.

You will have to give me some time as I have just de-rusted the components and part way through painting all the bits ready for fitting.

The seal kit is due tomorrow and then I will be reassembling the components ready for fitting, I guess Thursday/Friday will be the day I post the photographs.

Hi John.

Not urgent. Just interested where the problem is. I'm guessing its to do with the hub and mountings for carrier.
