Hi I have spent the last three months reading the posts and love the detail of the builds. I want to build a 2ltr vitesse but they don't seem to come up too often. Wife tell me I dont have the time but its on my bucket list.

Step 1 Tell wife That's done ears still ringing

Good luck matey! I managed to build mine (a 2L version!) over the course of a year, spending normally just 1 hr per night on it on week nights and very occasionally a few hrs at the weekends.

It's VERY worth it!

Dave

Hi Noob. Some Sammio building advice:

Step 2 - ignore wife's protests.

Step 3 - continue ignoring wife's protests...

Welcome.

If availability of time is an issue, then you just need to be realistic with your deadline.

I abandoned any thoughts of knowing when I will be finished when time & weather went against me.

Instead I have adopted a "if you keep chipping away, it will get finished eventually" approach.

Good luck, Paul.

Dead lines are great!

They make a lovely 'Whoosh!2 as they pass.

This is fun, not a job, so enjoy it.

Possible approach for the wife, simply ask "Would you prefer that my other interest had tits or tyres?" - By aware that if you do try this you might end up spending time sleeping in the garage as well as working there.

It seems that step 2 Is buy Karls Sammio that way I finish a car for summer and then my be able to do the vitesse in my own time without rush. Karl did a cracking Job on his Sammio Spyder which is now tucked in the garage. And the wife seems happy
