Default Proportional Valve

Hey, I'm currently building a single seater racer as a college project. We're using a 600cc motorbike engine and it weighs approx 300kgs. I am currently designing the Braking System of the car. I am restricted in using a single caliper mounted to the differential at the rear.

I am unsure of the benefits of using a proportional valve in the rear circuit and
is it necessary to use one.
Any information or help would be great fully appreciated.

Thanks, Gerard.

If the front and rear brake calipers are fed from the same master cylinder then the valve to the rear will help you set the braking balance between front and rear axles, but you will have had to done your calculations to make sure you want to reduce the braking on the rear and not the front!!!

If you have two master cylinders and a bias controller between the pedal and the two master cylinders then you shouldn't need a proportioning valve in the system.

Hows the project coming?
