I have had a couple of quotes now that are at least acceptable circa £400 ish
but most places do not want to touch or need an engineers report!

The places I have had quotes from all said the same and that is in the event of a payout I would get market value???? when pushed one did say no more than £3-5k......totally unacceptable

Random! Out of interest, what's the premium on your Mondeo?

I'm with Adrian Flux, 5000k per year and 15k value with 2.8ltr conversion on the Sportster came out at around £280. I'm 28 with 8 years no claims. Car is garaged and alarmed.

As a MOC memeber you get 10% off. There are a number of clubs and forums out there that will get you a discount.

Cheers for info guys I'm waiting for a call back tomorrow from a company that say they can do better than £300

Mondeo is about £280 with Jill and myself but it is a daily car

Adrian flux have a really bad reputation for not paying, look on seloc

I wanted agreed value initially but would have settled for a good quote without it but after speaking to quite a few today the theme was they would quite happliy take my money for value £xxxxx but in the event of a claim they would only payout a packet of thorntons toffee!

So if you have a value £12k or £10k and so on I would check as footman james was one of them that said market value only and as said market value was a little as 3-5k

What warrants the diff between mine and John car £300 to £589

But I may have to accept this

Wink

Just renewed my insurance. Went with Footman James this time:-

1.6K exi, 3000miles each year, £9500 value (*$!£), me and the missus to drive, breakdown cover and legal....£168!!!!

Nearly £100 cheaper than Flux!

(more justification to keep the car!!)

Rich
