Default bias valve and brake pedal feel?

I now have my servo removed and the new master cylinder installed along with a bias valve!

My question is when the bias valve is in its open position (not adjusted) the brake pedal is very firm (which it should be) and only has about 1 inch travel.

But if I adjust the bias valve so that the front pressure is reduced and the rear pressure increased the pedal now feels very spongy and travels about 3 inch?

Is this just a case of air in the rear line or something else? Or should the pedal feel change with bias adjusted?
I feel I have bled them to death

Cheers
Craig

Hi Craig.

Be carefull with the Bias valve. I was speaking with your local SVA examiner last Friday. He was down in Gillingham from Newcastle. It's a no no as far as he is concerned.

Craig,

My brake pedal felt very soft and horribly mushy at frist, despite bleeding the system lots and lots.

After about 400 miles when the pads had bed in, the rears especially, the brake pedal developed a good solid feel, and gave sufficient confidence to really lean on the pedal.

John, mine feels very solid now if bias not adjusted and on the road locks wheels very easily its just if pressure put to rear that pedal goes soft
