Default Z3 filler neck removal

Has anyone removed their filler neck in order to relocate the filler cap? Was trying to get the end off the pipe but it won't budge. There's 4 wee tabs which I've pulled back but after that I can't see what else is holding it on. Is it just brute force required?

You need to drill out a rivet on the retaining strap underneath the ring. Then put a pair of Mole Grips into the mouth of the metal ring and pry it off in an up and down motion, twisting it around on the plastic tank neck won't do anything. You need to be fairly heavy handed with it

Excellent. Thanks Chris. I was going to ring you tomorrow so that'll save me doing that (though you still might hear from me if I get stuck! )
