Default 5exi on the road (well almost)

Well I've just received my registration details after the dvla inspection and will be able to drive it on the road from 1st August.
The build is not finished however as the body is battleship grey and requires preparing and painting. I think I'm going to run it for the rest of the summer first though.
The build has taken longer than I expected for one reason or another 17 months to be exact. I honestly don't know where the time went on it, it seemed as if a lot of progress was made early on and then jobs that seemed simple took forever. I did lose a couple of months with a back problem and a broken foot though.
I do think to do a good quality build it takes longer than a few spare weekends which I read somewhere.
I hope it won't be long before a reasonable number are on the road and we can all meet up at shows, trackdays etc. I am not far from Harrogate which is the next show coming up and I think I'll go to that one, it's a nice run using all the country lanes. hope to see some of you there. Brian.

Brian,
I am hoping to get mine MOT'd and SVA'd in August. That will be 12 months almost to the day as build time, not quite the 100 hours quoted by Marlin

The major issues I have are with the bodywork fit, and the wiring which is taking a looooong time. I'll run mine in battleship grey for the rest of summer, but did you fit all the mesh panels for SVA???

I'm looking forward to the track days!

John.

Default mesh panels

I only fitted mesh to rear engine cover, there was no problem with other vents, just all edges had to be rounded off. Good luck with your sva, Brian.
