I need to shim my headlights bowls for the next MOT. The chap who tested it suggested it was a "sympathetic" ticket and I put some air in the tyres to get the angles right. What a nice man, I shall use him again next year.

BTW - and not wanting to derail the thread - I have fitted a wooden steering wheel and then a circuit to override the air bag light on the dash. My MOT man said that even with this it should have failed as, because of the age of the car, it should have an air bag fitted. We eventually agreed that the car was supplied with the original steering wheel fitted and we were both happy.

Anyone else been asked to fit the original, air bag equipped, steering wheel just for the MOT?

Thanks I also need a sympathetic mot tester as I am sure things will need adjusting, read lots of forum points about wooden wheel swap, I have light on dash that goes out after ignition as have passenger bag in place. So hopefully will be ok with that, also read mot test rules to make sure, we will know shortly though! All the best.
