Default Scoop – Nigel ‘Detail’ Dean joins Kit Car

Thought that MadAbout was the right place for this shock revalation.

Nigel is transferring from Which Kit? to Kit Car in his capacity as ‘technical Editor’.

Naturally, I’m excited and delighted.

Den.

That's great Den

Hope you're gonna drop the 'detail' bit though

Best of British to both of you.

John

I'm kind of hoping he is going to be let loose on an idea I gave Den about a week ago.

Or he could do a Dax . . . . . the one he was going to build anyway (I think)!

What do you think Den?

The DAX build is not necessarily assured. It’s a politically hot potato for reasons not completely clear to me (and, quite honestly, none of my business or concern).

I surmise that Fib’s has done a deal with DAX (accounting for their DPS ad in the latest WK? and their presence at Stafford). However, that’s between them and doesn’t concern either Nigel nor myself (and I don’t even want to make political mileage out of it).

This I can say. Nigel buys and builds cars for pleasure. They belong to him. Naturally, whatever the ‘Technical Editor’ builds is likely to end up within the material that the ‘Technical Editor’ submits for publication. If DAX or Which Kit? have a problem with that, they shouldn’t supply the kit or mind their own business respectively.

For my part, I was exceedingly impressed with Nigel as a person and have no problem with his judgement concerning what he publishes. There’s not an ounce of malice or deceit in the man. He’s an utter professional who I hope to learn from. That’s why I appointed him as a real ‘Technical Editor’ as opposed to one in name only.

Den.
