Default Internal Mirror.

Hi guys.

How have you got your internal rear view mirror to stick?

I bought a mirror from the local car accessory shop. Followed instructions (heat up screen and pad, then applied pressure for a while). But the thing after a few adjustments, fell off. Cleaned windscreen etc.

Hi John,

Nearly there......

I used standard Rover rear view mirror and Loctite 319 (rear view mirror bonding kit from Halfords.) Follow the instructions to the letter and sticks like s**t to a blanket.

Mine hasn't moved in 9 months.

PS....don't forget the obvious ones for the SVA man....sharp edges covered, under dash panel to hide fan and column cowl, rounded gearknob, well clipped down cables and pipes, stay to hold open the rear clam when opened etc....

...and finally, go around all the nuts and bolts you can see and check they are tight (seriously...it's easily done!)

ATB

Rich

Hi Rich.

Cheers for that mate. Will give Halfords a try.

Ah the bonnet stay. It's been a great debate. Gillingham has said that a bonnet stay is not needed for SVA. But if it fails on the SVA inspectors head, it won't go down too well. Advise from Stevie boy!!

My intentions are if he wants to look under the bonnet, then I will disconnect the rear section and remove it. Can't do anything else. As the wiring is a bit short, so the rear section will only open a bit to remove the connectors. I blame the other half. I just got fed up with tit for tat. So done what I was told. I did the wiring to a woman's 6 inches. Hence too short!
