Default No more Posts about Classic Replicas

I am drawing a line under the Classic Replicas saga.

Do not add any more posts about this company and your dealings with it. I believe InSpace is creating his own website detailing his dealings with this company so please no longer add any posts on Madabout.

Any new posts relating to dealings with this company will be deleted, please take your grievances about the company through legal channels rather than air them on here.

Of course any legal settlements that go into the public record can be re-posted as and when that happens.

I will be going over all posts relating to this subject and editing where I feel lines have been crossed.

Please lets get back to talking about Dino replicas, the building of them, the driving, the new ones etc.

I for one am sorry you feel this way John and my reasons are that if someone see's the advert for a car builder offering to build them a roadworthy replica then they have an unpleasant experience with this company finding themselves severely out of pocket would you not feel better having stopped this?
Since your last request to not mention the company and so on I have not. By all means remove what you feel is over the line but don't dictate what can and can't be said or a forum is actually no longer of any use. Any company has the same right of reply, They have the same right to take action legally against an individual if they can prove that comments made are false.
I feel your site does a good job of connecting kit car enthusiasts and hugely benefits them for information. I have had numerous thankyou from other users for the warming's saying they were glad this forum existed.
If a companies behaviour is such that a warning to may be advised then surely to suppress this information is not in the interest of your subscribers who are interested in these cars! Who may otherwise trust what seems to be a legitimate builder with there money. You will find the thread to my input has been to research your product, company and builder prior to taking the leap and parting with cash. If one of your members is out of line the deal with them individually but don't sacrifice helping others for the mistakes of one individual.
You showed an interest in the Gullwing SL, how would you react if you had paid a large deposit and received nothing? Would you now be more cautious before investing due to the input of this forum?
I have been interested in the building and driving of cars since I was a boy and I find that the problem with the industry is there is a large void between amateur and professional behaviour and with the internet this void can be reduced but not if the information is to be doctored by individual opinion.
I will hopefully still enjoy being a member of your site and enjoy the benefits as well as contribute. Perhaps there should be a warning forum to avoid certain pitfalls of the industry if it can't be voiced within other forums.
Respectfully ....

One more point, through this forum I have found out about Dehavalland motors a true alternative to the unmentionable company and also found another car engineer with a genuine interest in good work and the development of these models.
That has to be a good thing surely! If the relationship progresses then a new product may be available you never know. Car makers and engineers spend millions of pounds developing models for improved safety and the enjoyment of the end user with the end result being profit for the company and a happy customer. Sadly in some cases the development of the safety and cost refinement has lost some of the passion of the original coach builders who's flare often side stepped safety for aesthetics. How often were cars better at going than stopping but we loved them, poor handling, terrible lights, shocking gear changes but we loved them. With todays technological advances we can achieve far more than the small companies and builders of the past but we don't need to be misled by those only greedy for money with an eye to deceive the passionate along the way so dissipating our enthusiasm. I still say be very cautious as 'all that glitters is not gold' or in this case 'Is red will ever hit the road'.

There is enough information posted on this forum about the company regarding yours and others experiences with it. Further posts are not adding any more value and unfortunately one final post by a contributor tipped it over the edge.

By all means link to your new site when you have it up and running and carry on the discussion of the company there, not on Madabout.

John I totally agree, I am sure people that have purchased there kit and are affraid to talk on hear for the fear of being rediculed. I would like to meet these people, My other point is that legal disputes are quite quick in the civil law and if there is enough evidence to prove what is being said then it would be all over by now. I have not yet purchased the kit, i have been put off, and had other more important expenses. I however have visited CR workshop on several occasions in the last 6 months been given build photos, and advice on what parts i can get myself to keep the cost down. but of course he is a bussiness and would prefer to supply them to me with his mark up, and i would be the same. I have also been open with gordan that i can't afford it just yet and he is still prepared to meet me at the weekends at his workshop, when i am in the area. I have asked him about these comments and wasn't prepared to talk about it but nor did he pass any bad comments, apart from he no longer goes on these forums, I think this is a shame as he really knows his stuff about the car. Cheers Phil

You either have no experience of the law or have motivation to make these comments. If this subject is closed then leave it so. I think your positive remarks regarding this company only further cloud a messy subject.
I will once finished post the outcome of the legal case for the benifit of all and also supply background.
Do you think I would have handed over cash if I was suspicious I also was misled to believe that Mr Ainsby was a fair and decent business man.

Inspace, get on with your claim, tell us what the result is but until then I am not interested. This seems to be fuelled from a personal vendetta between you and Gordon. Your correct my experience with the law is quite limited but my father inlaw is a crown prosecutor, who pointed me in the correct direction regarding claims and the way courts work yesterday hence my post. Spouting on hear will not help any claim you may have, and could leave you very open to prosecution for potential loss of business by CR if your claim is ruled out. The question I would ask is who the heck told you to do this because if you took legal advice you would find out that you are going about it in completely the wrong way. If there is a legitimate claim proven by the courts then that is the only information that is needed to warn people of this company, in other words help yourself and keep shut until you have won. You have already stated that you have no interested in doing a dino project from now on, but others still are. If you spend your effort completing your claim then this will be more useful than your comments on hear.

Why would you defend this company just seems strange to me. There has been warnings that Gordon uses this site incognito before and your comments make me suspicious of that.
The statement of a personal vendetta is very unnessasary.i suggest you say that to all the other users who have posted their experiences or are we all making it up. If you have any doubt my friend just search companies house or if you want to Pm me i will send the you documents sent to me by companies who specialise in company & director searches but if you want to get involved with this company by all means go ahead.
My point of writing on here has only ever been to inform others of my experience and it is up to the individual to take any benefit from it or not.
As John has clearly pointed out there are enough comments from multiple user to allow people to make an I formed decision.
There are more people on hear who have issue's and bad experiences with this company and that is how I came to the site by doing a search on the company. There were warnings on here before I placed mine.
There is nothing on here can be deemed slander by myself and any loss of business is caused by the companies behaviour. Do you really think that anyone who wants to buy a kit Dino would be put off by my opinion! No they will have probably done a further search and found out more and this would have been there motivation for their final decision. I have no intension of debating with you who is right regarding the law but I assure you that I am well served in this regard.
I wish you the best of luck with your choice of kit.

I have no intension of going against Johns wishes but I feel that your Comments deserved response.

Inspace i will PM you on these items but i would make it clear i am no friend of gordon, the fact is i like his product, i like to old JHC but not the new, the dehaviland project where i am very keen on there progress, but most of all i am mostof all impressed with CASCU's body and chassis. The real difficulty would be getting the original lookings parts which are not original as the costs for these items are very expensive. Ideally would love to have the option to have the Cascu body and chassis, Woodsport camryv6 engine installation (as the New JHC car) and the fittings from CR. However this will mean the best parts of each car in an ideal world, but this will mean a very expensive replica. but a good one, I have said in other posts that dehavilland will have a V6 option, well with that in mind a cascu body fitted would be fantastic, but i am looking forward to seeing Dehavilland at stonleigh this year,

wish you the best, what i really want to hear about is hoe the engineering works, IVA advice, Build manual information, this is what i want to hear about and peoples experiences in building the projects, Hope ther is no bad feelings between us.
