Thanks Gary!! Just bought a set of plans for a teardrop trailer and am looking at fitting a removable tow bar....lots of cheap trailer bases and caravan chassis on ebay.
Think i had better finish one project first tho!

Yep, I've got tear drop plans also and the towbar idea also crossed my mind there again I could just throw the tent in Skippy and spend time driving about in her PAT

We have an excellent Camp site about half a mile from my shop , with lots of stuff for everyone , bars , pools , restaurants , play areas etc...
I have camped there before with a Hot Rod group and its pretty laid back... I can probably get a group rate for camping , if enough interest...
Just thinking , maybe organise a couple of days , one night ..ie. Saturday and Sunday sometime Spring onwards , people could camp over or stay locally or just visit on one of the days ....no showing , no trophies , no rules , no pressure...
If anyones up for it ...I can organise a free breakfast on the Saturday morning .....anyone who's been here will know my local Cafe ...Workshop can be opened for an hour or two for the inquisitive ....
Could be a great way to meet each other , compare notes , gang up on me etc...!!
Just let me know your thoughts ?

Right , Xmas has gone , evenings are getting lighter etc and I need to start thinking about the Gathering ( give me something to do !! )
I cannot get any info from the Campsite yet until they open again in a few weeks but a good idea of numbers would help please .....also if anyone can give me reasons for not choosing a particular weekend , please do....
I'm thinking post Stoneleigh ( 6/7TH MAY ) This gives a few of us a chance to concentrate on making it to that show and hopefully puts a few cars on the road...better weather is pushing me towards June at present ...pre-school holidays is important as well....
I cannot stress enough that this is very informal ...I don't do clubs , car club politics always ruin things , so not a club meet , just an oppurtunity to catch up ....attend , don't attend , go home when you've had enough , stay an extra night --whatever !!
Non ownership of a Sammio doesn't exclude anyone either ...if you like the cars , we'd like to see you !!
If no one turns up , I'll just enjoy a nights camping with Sam ! not a problem !!
All thoughts are welcome....

We bought a family tent last year but never ended up using it, so i'd be up for this and i may even get SWMBO to also come in the sensible family car with the tent and the sprogs

Have to check with the other half, who's away for a few weeks, but I see no particular reason not to head over to Devon to have a look at some more Spyders, G-46's and maybe a Cordite? :-)

well I'm local so it would be rude not to! If the weather is completely rubbish, I have a coupe of spare rooms if anyone wants to crash!
Started stripping the vitesse down today, so mine should be on the road by May!

Hi, sounds like a great idea especially as it is open to 'lurkers'. I am sure I am not the only one who would love to start building such a beautiful looking car now, however for one or more reasons can't start yet. At the moment this forum is helping keep me sane!!! Keep up the good work guys.
