Well done.
You have made history by getting the first one on the road.
I saw the red one in the flesh and was amazed by its size and presence. It will be nice to see yours progress now. Any ideas on finish colour etc.??

Congratulations.
I take it there was no problems with keeping the car's make as Reliant?
( As I am sure some people had an issue trying to keep Triumph on their Spyders)
Hope you can get a few more photos up.
Enjoy, Paul.

Well done indeed, you've made Sammio history.
Will you be painting it any time soon and what colour will you be going for?
I do like those tail pipes inset under the rear valance, btw, nice.

Thank for the kind words,
I'll be at DVLA in the morning getting a tax disc and booking it in for a VIC. I'll change the name then. What you see is what I asked the MOT guy to put on the ticket, or should I say PASS TICKET
Details of the photos WCA posted.
The first two are the standard Ford air filter with the middle cut out, the original filter is then sandwiched between the cut outs. Much cheaper than the K&N type and the engine runs better
The bonnet strap is a seat belt the locking gear removed leaving just the spring, wind out when you open the bonnet, winds in when you shut the bonnet, it works!!
Had lots of problem choosing the rear lights. I'd see a set on the web, buy them, only to find they looked s**t. What I finally fitted is the cheapest Land rover S11 lights and indicators less than a tenner for the set!, I think they look really "period"
I am leaning towards SILVER with a merc badge on the bonnet but BRG may-be????

I think silver with the three pointed star would work really well. To me the G46 always had the look of the 300 SLR Mercedes about it.
Mind you, I kinda like silver...

Weak. WEAK? Are they mad? Does this look weak to you?
Anyway, red was on my list of possibilities, but we've already got two red cars, while Phil J's BRG Spyder looks fab, even though it's not a colour I'd go for myself. I've only seen one Sammio in a colour I didn't like and that was a sort of hearing aid beige you normally only see on Suzuki Splashes.

Given that the standard scimitar has 0-60 in about 8 second, without all that weight of the glass and doors its got to be quick. But will the Aero body increase the top speed to over 120? Now that would be fun without a windscreen!
Any chance of a side on photo?
I am however curious, did you have to adjust the brake bias for the lighter rear end?
Hats off to you for showing us G46ers the dream is possible.
Its back to those blxxdy doors for me
Congratulations
HM

When up to Leyland yesterday to visit Andy at RIBBLE KITS and collect a windscreen surround, done 400 miles in my truck with-out a problem, went to town this morning and blow the bl**** turbo
Need to fix my truck before the G-46, but, while waiting for bits I have started to sort out the bonnet and should have time to fit the windscreen.

To Post Pictures.
1) The pictures start on your computer but you have to move them onto the internet so you need an account on a photo hosting website. There are lots available and I don't know which are best but I use Google Plus photos because somehow my phone automatically backs up all the pictures to there.
2) Once you have somewhere on the internet to put your pictures it is worth creating different albums or folders so you can keep different photo sets separate. I have an album for my car build, an album for my bike stuff, an album for family stuff etc. This way you can restrict who can see each album. I grant public access to most my photos because I dont care who sees them.
3) You now need to get the URL for the photo that you want to show in the thread on here. This is just the unique reference so that one website knows what the other website calls your photo. Not sure how other photo hosting sites work but for Google Plus I simply right click on the photo and I can copy the URL whic looks like this for your photo above : https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-_...o/G-46+068.jpg
4) You need to paste the URL into the thread but with '' after it.

Thanks for that WCA but I'll still have to get a 10 year old to show me how
What do you think of the screen?
Having a real problem with the light covers.
How your project coming along?

Fascinating to see how your MOT'd G46 looks with a tall screen, I guess it can be easily removed when needed?
I guessed the light covers might be a bit of problem - it's a bit unique..

The screen looks tall in the photos but it's only 200mm above the bonnet line.
