I'd favour a boxster over a TT if at all possible,my wife had a TT 225hp quattro convertible for a while, many years back now, they are so very clinical and little fun to drive, they almost do everything too well, also they scuttle shake like mad and are an absolute pillock to work on, every job requires a special tool to remove and then the replacement part can not be replaced using the same special tool ?? A lot of the panels are aluminium though so could be weighed in.
Also the doors are very long, plus a boxster has a Porsche interior and is a Porsche which must be a plus when trying to tribute a Porsche especially as I think one of these would be fairly expensive to complete to a standard worth having, personally I'd rather have the engine in the back and an interior that screamed Porsche not Audi TT, which is rather distinctive, in fact I'd sooner have one on an mgf than a TT they are fun to drive easy to fix and pennies. Ed.

Mind you since owning a Kobra from the MX250 i like fact of a convertible being a convertible. The car feels more of a factory built motor than a kit car.

I always saw the MR2 mk2 as a perfect base for a Porsche 904. Im surprised that nobody has tried it as I love the 904 and Im sure that it would sell well.

There is an eBay listing for a full set of fibre glass race panels for the Audi r8 on eBay today, that look very good quality now make those fit on a TT and you have a winner. Ed

Cheers for that Danny ,It may need bigger brakes, odd how so many things are different but it kind of works in fact I prefer the front arches on the top one. The other week I saw a range rover that looked odd I really couldn't place it, i thought it may of been a factory development thing or similar as my mate works for them in design engineering and he used to drive about in all manner of prototypes mainly jaguar when they where part of the same group. Whilst searching for your r8 and the boxter speedster above i realised it was a re panelled L322 to 2015 conversion, you may find it interesting and now I can't find the link for that. I think they are based in Bradford. Ed

The front end - maybe, sort of, if you squint a bit
The back end - just no. Heavy, stubby, bulky. Just no

Sorry to dissappoint you all but that Audi R8 replica in the photo is not based on a TT. Its an R8 replica built on a Ford Cougar. It was built in Spain a few years ago and the builder hoped to sell many at 40.000€ but with such a crazy price it remained a one-off.
There are many R8 style bodykits for the TT, such as the one from Caractere, but they are not replicas, they are just lookalikes.

This is a 904 replica and it's based on a Boxter. This one is built by Gullwing America and the price of the conversion is around 70 Grand.
