WCA... I thought you had a budget!
Or rather you did have? I don't know about you sobering up, I'm hoping your wife hasn't... What's her Christmas present gonna be? Actually forget that!

Budget blown, Christmas blown, last time I will get blown.
Wife sort of okay with the idea, well she is willing to be in the same room. Lets hope it is okay when the bloke delivers it on Wednesday.

So according to the e-bay ad, it's got 12 months MOT.
So what i think that most of us want to know is.....
Has it broken down yet?
Only kidding, how does it drive?

Scary fun in the wet. Power slide away from the petrol pump in Sainsbury!
Smells quite rich but that could be fumes coming out of this tube.

Does it sound good!
All looks very nice, almost a shame to cut it up... almost.

I will be leaving it alone for a while. I wasn't planning on starting until the new year anyway and this has already stretched the budget.
I might need some new rear tyres soon. I just got wheelspin parking it in the garage

that open pipe is a breather so you may get some fumes

Roadster is right. It probably was designed to have a positive ventilation valve (PCV) plumbed into it and then hooked up to a vacuum port on the intake. Might want to check to make sure that there isn't a port open which would cause a massive vacuum leak. If this were hooked up in this manner you would not be smelling "fumes".
In any case you won't want to operate the engine with the tubing open. It will allow contaminants to get into the engine. At the very least there should be some type of filter attached.
Just my 2 cents. Nice looking car.

Wow, that's a pretty adventurous donor and a far better choice than the MX5 imho.
Given the power to weight ratio I think you're probably going to get wheel-spin while it's parked in the garage!
I can't wait to see your build progress. Yee-haa!

I am glad to get your approval Mr Towed. I agree about it being 'braver' than the MX5.
I keep flip flopping between a state of extreme happiness and sheer panic.
I think I have traced a possible cause of the rich running. Under the big silver pancake is a choke that appears to be zip ties fully open!

hands off...
You're not meant to be playing with it til' the new year. You'll get caught. Axe and Tookers spring to mind!

WCA if you get wheel spin now - just wait until its a G46
The guys in their moderate powered Spyders all have lively sportscars thanks to their low weight-just ask Pat.
It will be a beast and it might bite.
I look forward to watching yourself and Garry create a unique Sammio

Me too....
Nice one WCA ....looks perfect for cutting up !
I quite fancy a G46 on this setup at some point - time and finances permitting !
I fancy a Rover powered Sammio Spyder as well .....
I think a TVR donor will be a bit special and still SVA EXEMPT !! You gotta love it..

Loving it already. I couldn't find the choke pull in the cabin so I took the air filter off to try and trace it. I found the choke was zip tied open.
There will be progress reports while I play with the TVR on Piston Heads ( http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/f...=12&mid=208259)
I will start clogging up this forum when I start converting it to a Sammio. Probably in Jan/Feb depending on money.
If I can replace the high pressure EFI pump with one designed to run carbs I might even try a trip to see you Gary. At the moment the engine runs great and there is loads of power but the petrol fumes are a bit rich to drive anywhere for more than five minutes.

Fuel pump replaced.
Fuel Filter replaced.
Extra Fuel filter fitted.
Fuel cut off valve fitted (leaked and then repaired).
Cam vent fumes redirected.
Taxed and Insured.
Time for a reliability run. Southampton to Poole might be nice on a sunny day like today.
I will put my phone on charge and my faith in 25 year old Blackpool engineering

Sounds like a Tower ing achievement. Let's hope the ride isn't rock hard or you might only be able to drive a golden mile without tram lining etc, etc...
