Great idea.
If you look closely at my paint finish you'll see that I covered mine in very small rocks before spraying it. I suppose I shouldn't have finished the final surface with Artex branded knifing putty...

Not quite what I meant! ;-)
Mind you, stone cladding would give and interesting period finish, as they decribed it when selling it in the 70's

Hey Scottie
You mentioned about the tinky winky doors on the d-type. Although I do really like the idea of having small doors (and i'm sure my mother would like the idea of chunky side impact bars ), will they be useful for getting into/exiting the car do you think it would be just as easy to hop over the top, as per ribble etc?

Doors
Well. I will keep my doors as they are there and paid for, and will make the car look more like I want it to.
But if you just wanted a Jag type car, which after all, was Chris's original idea, then I don't see a problem, unless you only have one leg or whatever!
Go for it! I would look forward to seeing it.

Absence
Right! I have been offline for four days due to suffering a heart attack whilst working on my build.
With the deadline I gave myself, you can imagine this was irritating in the extreme.
Little consolation that the cardiologist Consultant told me he’d never seen such a healthy looking Patient after a heart attack!
However, it would appear that I’ve had a re-bore and re-con.
So should be good to complete the build. May have to extend the deadline a fraction though.
I am back home now, and will continue it.
I will post this now, then process the pictures I was unable to do at the time!

Bloody hell Scottie, I'd noticed you hadn't updated recently, but didn't think this was why!
Glad to hear you are OK, or as OK as you can be after a heart attack.
Forget deadlines and take things easy for a bit.
Take care, Paul.
PS
That central section looks great.

Scottie.
Sorry to hear about your heart attack, please don't stress over your build it should be FUN. Deadlines are great for getting things done, but there's no point if you are not able to enjoy it when it's finished due to health issues.
Take it easy.

Shite! I thought you had finished it and gone for an extended roadtest!
It just shows your regular updates were missed by many.
Take it easy, no pressure, we want you to enjoy driving it.

Thanks for the support guys, of course I will take it easy, I just take the piss a lot 'cos that's the way I am!
I really do want to finish it at least enough to be able to drive it to Stoneleigh, so I can park it next to the other one, (the only XKSS that ever goes there) The disbelieving look on his face when I said I'd ordered a shell off Chris, and would put it next to his at the next show!

Gary, you sound like the nurses in hospital!
They said "be care full Scottie, slow down, if you fall it gives us four hours of paperwork"!!

I'd like to make it clear that it was not the build that caused anything, I always live life at such a pace, that this would've happened if I'd been sat on my arse reading the paper!
Building it I think, relaxes me if anything.

Just checked your thread Scottie. Sorry to hear about your blip, hope the doc managed to fix your pump well enough to keep it working for another good few decades. I'm sure you can fabricate a replacement in ally if necessary...
Keep up the good work but don't go rupturing anything.

Being off the scene. for a while has had the positive effect of allowing me to plan ahead, identify and solve problems, inasmuch as working out materials needed, strengths and sizes etc, so apart from the obvious, the time was not totally wasted.
