Default Stephen's MX250 Mods

Stephen bought Grahame's (Grayone) finished MX250 when Grahame moved back to Turkey. He asked us to take delivery of the car and do a few bodywork modifications before it goes off to London.

I took advantage of the warmer weather today and worked on the car outside the workshop, the car looks great in the sunshine.

The mods were first marked out in masking tape

Then cut out the panels with a 1mm cutting disc

The "vent" panel parts were then tacked itogether with a glue gun before being removed and glassed together on the rear.

The other panel will be a "dummy" access flap and will have mock locks added after painting.

Both panels bonded back into place. One side nearly done, more filling and sanding before going off to Southampton for painting

Stephen's new mirrors are a great choice!

Good work! The more we adapt the kit the more exclusive each one gets!

Fantastic work Chris, they look even better than the photoshop plans. Mirrors are indeed a good choice, i promised John some pics for agreeing to sell them to me! If the front vents look as good then i will be a hapy customer (yes another). Period cream race roundels on order, i have other decals to suit, really need an interesting bonnet/boot badge thats not obvious replica, any thoughts about making your logo into one?

I think the Tribute badge would be good too.

Hi, ading vents in front wings, wod style interior, chrome quarterter frames, chrome wiper arms (when i find some), lowered slightly. Probably beefier exhaust, induction kit, chassis bracing, chrome interior bits and a few other minor items. Oh and have the light covers, looking forward to the frames when Chris finds a minute... busy sems an understatement!

Cool! Interested to see how the wing vents look as I've thought about those for mine.

Just cut out at present, thickness to add to edges and mesh behind once painted, but it gives you the idea.

I have sent a file of the Tribute logo to Hammy as he is having some badges made, I am sure he will post some pics when they are done. If it all works out I may stock them to go with the kit if required in enough numbers.

I have gone for the front vents to. I have gone all out and cut three in each side. I am going to put the black mesh behind them. Hoping to finish priming this week. Cant wait to have a dust free garage. [IMG][/IMG]

These are nice too, if a tad pricey...

These are more cost effective:

Default badges

Hi Chris, id be interested in badges too.
Tony, re swage line, i agree though due to family/work commitments im having to pay for the work to be done professionaly... i have to restrict the budget somewhere or SWMBO may suggest that ll end up sleeping in the car!

I looked at both the mirrors you suggested Chris, the pricey ones are lovely but er 'pricey' the others are good for the money! Thankfully i stumbled on a friendly car builder

Also, love the 3 front vents, good work that man. If i had built the car from scratch rather than cheating i may have gone the same route.
